Piretti - where are the fans?

I recently picked up a Piretti tour issue putter on WRX and after two rounds, I have to say I am in love.  My Bettinardi, which was custom fit out in Oakbrook, has been benched.  I have to say the feel and roll off the putter face is butter smooth.  I really only picked this putter up to add to a collection of milled putters to hang on the wall next to some Scottie’s, Toulon, and Odyssey Pro Types ((Odyssey’s attempt to take on Scotty before acquiring Toulon).  But I took it out for a run and wow!  Where is the love for this brand?  I know they had a social media cancel culture thing, but these putters are worth more love than they get IMO.

They make beautiful putters for sure, I love their Matera head.

Their putters are pretty nice, they outsource their milling. Their stock putter lines often have very high head weight which many like and many don't. 

 

Their workshop putters are often priced too high and their value drops heavily on the second hand market so people thinking they can flip these are mistaken. 

 

That said I've rolled a few but haven't owned one (lefty) but often check ebay cause if a nice one pops up cheap why not.

I’d love one and considered buying a carbon “tour” model.  But the $1,750 price point is just too high. If they could hold value and I could easily sell it if I wanted to at some point, I’d probably be more interested

There are fans.  People who use/like these do not seem prone to message board hype and front running.  Lack of representation here has nothing to do with how many people use a brand or how good it is... it can sometimes be the reverse.

 

Owner hurt himself and alienated some potential buyers for life - a self-inflicted wound more than a cancel culture.  A cautionary tale if you are not aware.  If you dig in, you might not want your putter any more.  Some sold off everything never to return.  Some did not care at all.  You don't have to make too many people mad for life to kill resale.

 

As said above, other than being heavy (usually), they were well made.

Price point is insane for a putter that is outsourced and cost them around $100-$120.  Essentially a production piece without any true customization

I was talking to him directly about one that isn’t just a production model, but yes. For the lack of customization it’s a high price. 
 

thinking about getting a custom Toulon instead. Talked to Sean there and the service was just so good I feel like I have to give him my business haha

Since they don’t mill their own stuff they all are production models.  Welding a different neck or throwing some stamps on something is very different than being able to essentially design something from scratch to meet your desires.

Didn’t know they don’t do their own milling. Kinda lame. They do look cool though, but I prob will not be a customer

yup, i remember this.  Stayed away since then.  But I hadn't realized he outsourced production.  That just makes it sillier.  Plenty of other makers out there that actually make their own putters.

I still use my Goat or Tesora CU both are great putters! They aren't around near as much as they used to be as others have alluded to here. I guess I don't need any face milling on mine as I believe all of mine except for an ancient Potenza are all smooth faced but I get what you guys are saying, it's ashame they aren't all done in USA anymore

Dredging up an old thread ... I recently got my first Piretti ... I've had countless Bettinardis and Camerons, but this is the best putter I've ever used. Probably the best putter I'll ever have, as I don't see myself spending 4 digits for a custom.
