Travel bag for kids? Flying internationally with kids clubs, need advice

I'm not sure this is the right place for this post, so please move it if I made a mistake.

Has anyone flown with kids clubs, and if so, how did you transport them? I'm pretty sure two sets can fit in one adult size travel bag. My kids' clubs are US Kids Golf 45, and 51. I was not surprised to find that travel bags aren't really made for kids. Any suggestions?

You shouldn't put kids in a travel bag.

I’ve only done it once; was able to squeeze both of our clubs in my stand bag & still have room to put his us kids bag in my club glove.

If both of the kids’ bags don’t fit in your travel bag you could possibly get one in a checked suitcase without clubs but it will obviously take up alot of space.

That's an interesting point. I supposed I could easily fit the clubs themselves in my golf bag and probably not have a weight issue. Then maybe just a duffle for the bags themselves...

There are the small tubular hardshell travel bags around. I believe the one I have is Trav-a-lite or something I can fit a whole set full size adults clubs in one, takes irons getting put in upside down and woods/putter getting positioned on top and some jostling. It has a clip/velcro on double pouch that i just toss in a suitcase. Ive used this to no major problems on a two week golf trip in the past, works on carts as well. But its small enough that it would probably work really well for a set of kids clubs.

More recently, I have a bigger hard shell case and have tossed my girlfriends clubs in my bag and then into the travel case as normal. Then have a small sunday walker super lite fabric bag for the courses that gets tossed in the travel bag and is just used as extra padding.

Highly, Highly recommend getting the adjustable mushroom for their clubs and yours!!

I have a club glove and a mushroom that's survived planes and shipstix, but I'm not sure what to do about the kids clubs. If I put them with mine I guess that would solve the issue, but I'm not sure a mushroom would expand enough for the kids set in a normal bag. I guess I need to start trying some things out.

If your travel bag is large enough and your golf bags are more carry than cart/hybrid, you might be able to fit two. I once did this on a trip to Mexico. Put all the clubs in my bag along with the stiff arm, then I was able to arrange her bag in a staggered way so that the base and tops were offset a bit. It was a pretty tight fit though and I doubt I could pull it off with my current travel bag.

I have a Club Glove Last/Collegiate travel bag and was able to fit both my Titleist Linksmaster bag and my son's US Kids 45 bag in pretty easily. It just made the shape a little fatter than normal but didn't have any issues with the weight limit. I would think 2 US Kids bags (45 and 51) would fit pretty easily together into most travel bags but you might need to still set the stiff arm to go the length of the bag for the bag to keep its shape up top.
