someone said - moves 8 grams of mass.  look up other threads talking about lead tape - everyone jumps in saying - 8 grams of tape can go anywhere, it won't make any difference to how the head performs other than the head weight itself / apparent shaft flex.   and yet, Ping does it, and ... well - sure it is fine, put that strip of AutoZone racer boy carbon on there.  and hey, I have some left over red paint from not selling enough 1 degree flat irons ,let's toss that in too.   they forgot the kitchen sink.  maybe on the i250.  I am disappointed.  was hoping more for a T150 competitor.  this looks to me like maybe a smaller T350.  Taylormade went clean.  Titleist is going clean.  Callaway is lost in the wilderness.  Ping - went their own way.  and I don't think it was a good choice, we shall see.

 

still the blocky shape.  still the super heavy offset in the middle of the bag and up.  and now, a little bit of Callaway Paradym iron - esque busy-ness on the back of the club.  again, so many threads about loving the "clean look", and suddenly, maybe this is ok,  it will grow on you.   maybe, to each their own.  

 

hard pass for me.  the I series iron, to me, has its claim to fame in its forgiveness, or better said perhaps, in its consistency across the face.  I did. not like the excess, for me, spin from the i230.  but I acknowledge that is was a tremendously forgiving and consistent head for those who fit the launch and spin profile.  of course, you could always power spec them, but then that egregious offset became even worse, starting to threaten G440 territory.   this is probably also very consistent across the face.  and a bit spinny.  they cannot be strong lofted to fix the spin, since they clearly are dedicated to the - we love me some offset - fans.  and now, they also shout , way too loud.   hey, people buy green corvettes too so this will sell.

I think Ping knows what they’re doing.  I understand that 90% of members on this site are too good for these irons.  That’s why they made Blueprint T’s.  The only mistake they made is by not custom stamping GOLFWRX on the T’s

I like them, and they are growing on me. Funny to see everyone flipping their s*** over the carbon fiber, but if it adds to the performance in any way then I'm fine it, and i'm in the minority in thinking the i230 looked too clean/plain. I also like the added offset but I play to a 12. Will be checking these out for sure.

Honestly at this point I feel a lot of it is satirical and ppl are just doing the ‘internet piling on’. The same ppl that you think are funny bcs they are “flipping their (I’m not allowed to use “disguised profanity”)”. Are probably thinking it’s funny how a couple ppl are defending these like their last name is Solheim. It’s a vicious internet circle ⭕️. And at the end of the day, as I’ve exclaimed a couple times now, it’s just a golf club on a silly internet golf forum 😊

Played i210 then i230, have had them in the bag since I got them in Fall of 2022, recent Lee Westwood photos I am digging the shape and willing to  overlook the carbon if they can merge a bit of 210, 230 and BP S performance into one, excited to hit them at the least

If these are as consistent across the face as the i230 and a bit longer, they will sell well. Clubs are only ugly until you hit them well. Just ask any Lab owner.

I hate them... even more that the i230 which I also hated. 210's are going absolutely no where.

Looking forward to golf OEMs issuing older model club homages/re-releases a la guitar, watch, or shoe manufacturers.

 

Think if Ping took the i210 and re-released it, or took the i210 and decreased the offset slightly and went with less bounce (not necessarily Hovland grind, but you get the idea), and then re-released that as the i210.2, i210 2.0, i210 ng, or j210 (“j” could become Ping’s new throwback/homage line of clubs and they could offer slightly enhanced/tweaked - yet still faithful - reproductions for any of their old Ping hit models e.g. i210, Eye2, etc.).

 

Would crush in stores and on tours.

 

Ping: do a small test run, charge whatever, and see how right I am.

 

Notwithstanding the love/nostalgia for such, the exclusivity could command a price to make it make economic sense.

 

Mr. Solheim: will keep an eye out for a check in the mail.

Also, I will order a set of i240s and see how to peel or cut off the carbon fiber, if possible.

 

Aluminum HVAC duct repair tape would honestly look better there in lieu of the carbon fiber.

 

I would like to think it’s an intentional ironic ugly that they were going for, but sadly it’s not.

I'm sure they perform beatifully, as i would expect. But yuk Ping, YUK. Was so looking forward to something with a little bit more tech than the Blueprint S. Wondering if the specs will be the same as the i230, as i would expect. Absolute snooze fest here. All that anticipation too. Shame.

Busy cosmetics, ugly toe screw, super long blade length, knobby hosel, excessive offset. Not my jam.

I’ll hold final judgment until I see them in person, but I’ll go against the grain somewhat and say I am not a fan at all of the i210 and i230. For me, they both have weird bulbous profiles and way too rounded bouncy sole designs.

 

If these are a departure from that and closer in look to the blueprint s, it’s a big win for me.
