Nobody wants it to look like exactly the old one; we just would prefer that it doesn’t look like ssa.  In my experience, most golfers like a relatively simple, clean design.  This is not a step in that direction.  Hopefully it’s an awesome club that makes it worth putting in the bag regardless of the tacky carbon.

These look great, PING can get away with quirky designs. Carbon really doesn’t bother me and I have a set of the Blueprint S, which are gorgeous. May have to put in an order, I regret selling my i230s for the off ball striking days.

Post a back shot plz.  I just picked up a set of S159 in black which are still in the plastic and I still have the receipt.  I was just about to pop in some S400 shafts I have.  They were not easy to find. I had to go to a couple retailers to find them in the configurations I wanted.  
 

I think these will probably drop along with the irons.

The s259’s won’t drop until next year.  Play those s159’s with confidence 👍🏼

I doubt PING will let the shelves sit empty until 2026.  I had to scramble all over my city to scavenge a trio of S159 and neither PGA Superstore (2 of them) nor any GolfGalaxy had more than 3 or 4  of each finish.  I drove 90 minutes to get the last 60-S in my state, and Carls Golfland is nearly sold out.

 

That being said, you're right, I will likely just play the S159.  I won't play better golf with an iterative upgrade, and I found pics of the back of the S259 and they look nearly identical to the S159.

Brethren, after watching my daughter again put the i230s to good use today in a junior tournament, I have to say that the i-series are great, consistent, accurate, forgiving, good-sounding clubs. The performance is truly impressive.

 

Unburdened by weighty aesthetic considerations, we will be 100% happily onboard with the performance upgrades heralded by the i240. I'm envisioning a touch less spin, lighter weight and more ballspeed.

Someone said above it looks bigger…guessing it’s just an odd angle.  That H grind is very tight on the S159.  For the record, I thought that wedge would be perfect for me, but it ended up being super diggy. S grind, however, works great!

What’ll be more telling in my opinion is how many LPGA Tour players move into the i240. The i230 has been much more popular for Ping’s pros there than it is on the PGA Tour.
