There was a lot of hate towards the look of the TM P760 when they came out.  Now, people have been begging for them to be re-released (or updated).  People forgot about the looks rather quickly.

They look like traditional pings - not particularly beautiful but you know they’ll work. If I hadn’t changed irons last year I’d be looking at these. I didn’t like the i230.

No man, when ping harden the steels it’s to harden them for ball speed etc. 

 

the feel difference between 431 and 8620 is very obvious. There is a reason why ping use 8620 in the wedges and and the blueprint. Like wise vokey. 
 

anyway if you think the i230s feel as good as these other irons, can’t help you.

i230s feel phenomenal. And I‘ve played Mizunos for 15 years prior

Played mp57s until I got the i230s,

 

tested against the blueprint s, t100 and p770. 
 

i230 easily the worst of that batch. I still purchased the i230 for performance. 
 

feel wise anyone would agree i230s are the worse of that batch.

Right now it looks like their aesthetic choice. Most of us have reacted as such. 
 

I am genuinely hoping it’s not fake carbon and is functional.

Wonder when they will drop the prices of i230 at like golf galaxy & PGA SS? Been looking for the i230 replacement. But I might just stick to i230s if the price drops.

I’m going to wait until I see the i240 in the metal but yeah run the risk of i230s going totally out of stock.

Is it a fair statement to say that the i230s were not very popular and not the best seller for Ping? 

 

Maybe they felt the need to do this as a reaction to the under selling of the i230s ie showing tech and further differentiation from the blueprint s?

 

Anyone from the industry with insight?

Ah lefty’s have it weird, for instance at my local they still have G430 drivers and hybrids available for lefties so stock can last for ages. BUT sometimes you guys struggle to get access to the new stuff.

I was late to the i230s.  Just picked mine up a few weeks back.  Holding on to the i210s for now for a reshaft project.  Seriously, I woke up this morning and thought we'll I guess Ping replaces what I buy.  Bye bye micromax grooves.

I think they sold extremely well.  We have a bunch of people playing them at my club. I own two sets and will have a third set shortly.

Not a fan of the cheesy carbon fiber plate but other than that they look good to me.  Eager to test these out against my i230s.

Yeah as critical as my comments have been about the looks, Modus 115 as a stock shaft rocks.

Really pumped about the modus stock. It makes me even more sad that they had to throw in a sliver of tacky looking carbon.

Where most companies are making their use of carbon fiber (at least in woods) less in your face, this seems behind the trend.

 

Maybe there's a story there, but I fear they're going to have to be outstanding to compete.

I'm sure they'll perform, but I'm also sure we'll see a lot of people remove the carbon fiber strip. It just looks like an add on to fill space.
