Just an update - I’m now 4 full rounds in with these and I can genuinely say they have gotten more comfortable each round. I now have no tightness with my inserts in them. I’m still surprised each time I wear them how light and move-able they feel. They don’t feel clunky at all and the extra stability of spiked shoes has really been beneficial.

This will probably sound a bit odd, but one of the things I’ve been most happy with is that these spiked shoes don’t leave marks on the greens. I’m a heavier guy (280ish) and part of the reason I stopped wearing spikes was because they’d leave obvious marks/indentations on any semi-soft or wet greens. I was genuinely surprised to see that even in very wet conditions, these shoes did not leave any obvious marks.

I am very particular about my shoes because I have flat feet and prefer to wear inserts. It has been difficult to find shoes that they fit well in that don’t feel overly constrictive and still hold visual appeal. These shoes have absolutely outperformed my expectations and I’ll definitely be trying the wide when they come out to see if they can get even more comfortable.

Also, a note on the laces - I agree with @Cole_Williams11 that they are longer than I’d like and it’s noticeable. Shortening them up a bit would help. As far as the design - I love the functionality of the laces and it’s very effective in keeping them nice and tight. However, it does take away a little

bit of the visual appeal for me. It’s honestly not much, but noticeable enough that it warrants mention. I think @SQAIRZ should consider a slight re-design of these. I feel like the main benefit of having the silicone lacing system would be for the actual knot itself. So maybe take them off of the eye-let section and just have them where the knot will be. That would give the shoe a cleaner look in my opinion. The other possibility would be to lean into the design and add a little bit of color to the silicone lacing and make it pop. To me

it feels like a little bit of a middle ground where it’s trying to blend them in but it just doesn’t.

Lastly, I just want to touch on the socks briefly. I think I may have gotten a pair that slipped through quality control a touch because one sock is quite tight and the other is a very nice, semi-snug fit. I wore them anyways just to try them out and they honestly seem like the perfect golf sock. They have padding in the right place and for guys that like the no-show look, these are excellent.

All in all, I’m very, very impressed!

I’m close to your size (250-260 depending on dinner that day) and I agree, these soles distribute weight very well and do not leave indentations on the green, even in wet conditions.  I definitely have to be careful with my spiked Ecco’s, but I haven’t had the same issue with these.  I wouldn’t have thought of it had you not mentioned it, so thanks!  I’m excited to keep breaking mine in as soon as I’m back from vacation!

I’m sure it sounds like a somewhat unusual observation to most, but the last spiked shoes I wore were the tour 360s and I found myself constantly trying to step lightly around the hole because of the marks. It’s a relief to walk freely in these and not have to give it a second thought.

Not a tester but got the new Velo model. Love them except they don’t seem water proof. Any testers noticing that? They are definitely lighter than prior models and traction feels better. Just bummed about shaving wet feet.

Thanks for the honest feedback—we’re glad to hear you’re enjoying the lighter feel and improved traction on the new VELO!

The VELO is built with a 100% waterproof premium microfiber upper, so you shouldn’t be experiencing wet feet out there. That’s definitely not the experience we want you to have.

Would you mind letting us know the course conditions when you noticed the issue? Standing water, heavy rain, etc.?

Early morning and dewy. Clay soil. Not really standing water. Sometimes in the rain. I walk 99% of the time. Wear shorts and ankle socks. FYI Bob reached out to me. I am awaiting a new pair so I can send my current pair back for you folks to test.

I will say it's refreshing to see @SQAIRZ so active in this thread and it really strikes me as a company with excellent customer service. Kudos!

As one of the testers and someone they sent 3 pairs of shoes to trying to fit my foot the best, I can attest to the customer service being top notch. I'm a small business owner and I was surprised at the level of customer service, specifically from Bob himself, to make sure I got the right size for my foot.

UPDATE

Comfort - Just jumping in here to provide an update after about 7 or 8 rounds with these shoes. After round 3 they felt fully broken in and very comfortable. To be clear, they were comfortable out of the box, but now my orthotics have settled in nicely and it feels like I've been wearing them for months.

Appearance - I got a comment yesterday from a random golfer in my group about how nice they looked. The white cleans up nicely after the round with a quick wipe down. I imagine even after a full season these will look brand new after a wipe down with a magic eraser.

Grip - One thing I have noticed is that like @medic170979 mentioned before - wet grass does get packed into the spikes quite easily. That being said, it is very easy to pick out at the end of the round and I have not noticed it impact my grip during a swing.

Performance - These shoes really allow me to feel like I can get after it with every swing and not worry about losing my ground grip or slipping. I feel very connected to the ground and it does feel like I'm able to generate slightly more speed/power. Unfortunately I have not tested them on a monitor yet as the closest option for me is XGolf and their launch monitors are hot garbage, at least at my location. But honestly, even if it's a placebo effect, I really do feel like these shoes are allowing me to unlock some extra giddy-up and I'm not even remotely mad about it.

Good morning,

I’ve had 4-5 rounds in the shoes since my last post, so I wanted to provide and update and further observations.  I could not be more pleased with the fit and comfort of these shoes for MY foot.  I get that this is very personal depending on your foot, but these are a home run for me.  I have experienced zero discomfort throughout my rounds, and while most of my recent golf has been on a cart, I try and do a fair amount of walking between shots to clear my head and keep the blood flowing.  As @player922000 alluded to above, the grass PACKS into the molded outsole and around the spikes.  That said, I only had one round where slimy tee boxes affected my traction.  They clean out easily after the round and really don’t have an impact on traction for as bad as it looks.  On Friday we played on a course that really should have been closed due to the amount of mud and standing water.  I am pleased to say that my feet remained completely dry in these shoes despite feeling like I was walking through rice paddies on some holes.

As for performance gains, that has been difficult to determine since my SS has some variation depending on the day and how efficient I am swinging.  That said, I have been driving the golf ball very consistently and I do feel incredibly stable on the tee most days.  Whether that is the shoe, the evolution of my swing work and mechanical practice, or a combo of both, is the difficult to tell.  What I can say is that if the durability proves to be as good as the rest of my experience thus far, my next pair of shoes will be Sqairz instead of my tried and true Ecco’s.

I wipe my shoes with the same soapy water I clean my clubs with and they clean up nicely!  I forgot to mention that in my post - super impressed with how bright the white is staying thus far.

Totally agree! I think coming into this review my biggest question was "how can these shoes justify the price tag?" I was expecting a solid product but I was not expecting a product that passes just about every test with flying colors. In my experience thus far, they are absolutely living up to the billing!
