Higher balance point putter shafts - help!

Looking for some help.

I’ve got a blade style putter playing 35 inches with a ct tour shaft.  It swingweighted around e6 with a 94 gram grip (as pistol tour with 25 gram weight).  I wanted to get the putter down to e0 ish maybe even a touch lighter. I swapped I a 50 gram weight and don’t love it as the whole putter build is starting to get really heavy.

Anyone have any suggestion for a higher balance point putter shaft?  I’m open to composites.

for reference I didn’t like the Odessy lighter counterbalanced shafts.

Feel like you're looking for a unicorn that probably doesn't exist especially at a lighter overall weight.

As for the KBS question I'm sure they could answer that better than us.

Maybe it’s not a swingweight problem, but rather a feel issue…….ive Swapped out ct tpour shafts from several

putters and replaced with nspro similair 120gm shafts and the feel is much improved.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I will check them out.  I have a kbs stepped shaft arriving tomorrow so I will report back once it’s built.

Update for all.  The KBs tour stepper putter reduce the need for 25 grams of counter weight to hit the same swingweight (actually 2 points lighter) at the same length with same grips.  Haven’t played with it yet but rolled some putts and its much more balanced feeling.

for reference is blade head at 354 gram head.  35.25 inches playing length and a about 90 total grams at grip (ss + 25 gram coutnter)

I really do like the ct tour in a mallet style head like a spider in the 340 gram headweight neighborhood

Pretty sure the KBS graphite putter shaft would drop the swingweight.  I have heard that complaint multiple times that going to that shaft decreased the swingweight.

Nice!  If the stepped tour isn’t enough I’ll give that a while next.  I rolled it today and much better than the ct.  not near as heavy

you're not going to get enough counterbalance from a shaft change to get the target swing weight down enough. I had to search for the stroke lab specs and found this. It's an AI search so others can correct the info if it's BS:

The Odyssey Stroke Lab shaft weighs 75 grams, which is 40 grams lighter than a typical steel putter shaft. This is achieved through a multi-material design combining a graphite body with a steel tip. The weight saved is redistributed, with 10 grams added to the putter head (via two sole weights) and 30 grams added to the grip end, typically through a combination of a lighter grip and a counterweight. The counterweight in the butt end of the shaft is either 30 grams (for putters with a pistol grip) or 40 grams (for those with an oversized grip).

It looks like the stroke lab build lowers swingweight by 15 to 20 points, people have anecdotally mentioned that their stroke lab putters swing weight in the low D range. My guess is the stroke lab builds are an over correction, I too don't like them.

Was the total weight OK with the 25g plug?

Thanks for looking that up.

it was okay with the 25 gram weight, but will something like 5 which was too heavy.  50 grams got it to around e0 (all with the ct and the pistol tour ss grip)

that being said I now have the stepped tour in, and swapped in a ping p58 midsize.  Sitting at d9-e0 and the total weight is 45 grams less.  Win win

was going to do the math to get the swing weight and total weight to your target, but sounds like you got it. With so many different standard head weights and grip weights, I'm surprised so few people pay attention to the swing weight and total weight of their putter builds.

I’ve only done swingweight in the past, but I’ve also never had to have 125 ish grams on the grip end total to get a putter in the e0 range.  For me total weight was way to heavy I I like heavy stuff.

i think the ct tour would be great in a 340 grams head at 35 inches.  354 was just too much
