True, Scheffler seem a bit robotic on the course.

The real issue is the strong impression that there just aren't many thoughts running through his mind at all.

He seems like a blank slate. Every interview or puff piece they do about him seems to underscore the same impression.

He's nice. He's a family man. He's extremely good at golf. This is the entire set of interesting facts about Scottie Scheffler.

Rory is MUCH more exciting to watch. For me.

How much of that excitement is from the fact that Rory often makes mistakes in crucial situations?

I really think that's a factor.

He often seems like he's playing on the razor's edge of his ability. Scottie always seems like he's in third gear.

Oh please. A HR is a HR! Woulda been a shame to end on that 🐂 💩

Amendment G states it’s not reviewable… So 🤷🏼‍♂️

🤣

Would have been a shame, for sure. The rule is that the player needs to touch all the bases. I'm glad the gods saw fit to get the ending right.

Holy crap, what did I miss? Did a team lose on important game because someone missed a base/home plate on (what would have been) a game-winning HR???

An amazing run of form, but in the nicest possible way, it doesn't feel like it did when Woods was at his best.

I don't feel like I'm genuinely watching something historic, or a man who transcends the sport.

With Tiger, people and the media went all-in on the racial angle. I got the impression that Tiger just wanted to play golf.

Clearly Scheffler is a very good player. You don't win as much as he does without being good. I dont think he is boring, I just think the entire field is so good it's hard for any of top players to really stand out as much as Tiger did.

There are lots of good players today. From 97 -08 tiger woods was just so much better, so much more engaging, and was so daring he made the impossible seam possible.

Todays golf is probabale overall a better product. I do not have data to support this, but I feel like the competition today is much better then 20 years ago. At least in depth of field.  There are so many guys winning tournaments, do current players win 8 or 9 events a season?

I think, as in most sports, the equipment, conditioning, and training are more advanced today.

Again, I do not have data to support this, just a thought.

It just seams like none of the really top players are so much better then everyone else in the field. There are a group of guys who are clearly better, but there is not clear star. So perhaps yes Scotty  is boring because they are all pretty boring.  The pga has a very high quality product, the cources are stunning the players are amazing. I love tk watch it.  But it's hard to compare it to almost any late sunday when tiger was on tv.

When someone knows his game, plays good golf, is guided by course management, doesn't do hero shots unless needed, and doesn't talk much, he's seen as boring.

I don't play nearly as well as Scotty, but how I tackle golf is similar, I am nearly always in the fairway, make sensible shots, and don't talk much, friends joke I am boring.

His course/game management is incredibly good, but that's just not exciting stuff.

Take Rory for example.  Dude's never met a sucker pin he didn't want to go for.  Even if he's trying his level best not to, he'll end up hitting like a subconscious pull or push towards it at the last second.  Rory's just about physically incapable of playing boring golf, whereas Scottie's whole entire raison d'être is playing boring golf.  He might be historically good at playing boring golf, but it's still boring golf.  Fairways, greens, two putts.  That's a great way to score, but the kids aren't going to be putting posters of it up on their walls.

I don’t know man. And plz excuse this as it’s a bit “crude”. But Maximus is droppin’ WAY more panties than SS.

Maximus was all business, like Scheffler. Almost no celebration in victory, no pageantry before, during, or after other than exactly what was required, no playing to the crowd, only focus on getting it done. Tigris in his signature helm, doing flourishes with his axes; Tiger in his Sunday red, doing club twirls and chasing shots down.

Scottie has literally said golf is a job to him, like Maximus going through the motions because he has to. Tigris was so dedicated to it that even after being the only gladiator to win enough to retire he came back to the arena when asked. Like Tiger, he couldn't turn away from what he knew even when he didn't have the skill and speed left to be the very best any longer. He couldn't walk away even if it destroyed what was left of him. Whatever he may have felt at the start, in the end he lived for the crowds; reserved and private as Tiger might be, in the end he lived for the crowds and said he missed it when he was away.

It has nothing to do with raw appeal or attractiveness, I'm referencing how they go about their business and what characterizes them.

And sure Maximus n SS are both all business. But the difference is Max’ had mad rizz and SS probably doesn’t even know what that is! 🤣

If they joke about it, then you are! 😜

Can't count how many times my buddies have said I am boring to play with.  Comes after seeing my Drive land in the fairway over and over, or GIR, plus I don't talk much and won't get into any serous conversations.

Yesterday, when I missed the green by 3', using LW I flipped the ball up to a 6" to tap in par.  Did that 5 times yesterday and holed out once.  I hit a weak drive (shortest of everyone) but landed in the middle of the fairway, then hit a towering 6i over tree tops to in front of green 40yds short of Red pin, LW to 12" tap in.  When we walked off the green, the joke was how boring my golf is.
