Has anyone tried the new True Linkswear spiked shoes?

Looks like TL released two pairs of spiked shoes, the Maven and the Player.  I'm very interested in these because my gripe with TL for so long was the spikeless gimmick.  If they have made a spiked shoe with the quality and comfort of their spikeless, they have my attention!

As someone who’s notoriously tough to fit—small feet, wide forefoot—I’ve spent years cycling through shoes from FootJoy, Sqairz, and even other TRUE models. While I’ve had success with some, none have delivered the out-of-the-box comfort and performance I felt with the Truelinks Wear Maven.

From the first round, I was blown away by how well they fit. TRUE absolutely nailed the balance between structure and flexibility. The Maven’s carbon fiber sole isn’t just marketing fluff—you can feel it working. It adds a lightweight stability through the entire swing that’s subtle but confidence-boosting.

Love this review.  Im an 11 in Nike - should I stay the same?  Also, how did you get these so early?  Just realized they are on pre order.

They offered up Tour Department access with a membership, allows early access to new models, Tour only color ways and I think early access on restock.

Nope, went with the OG3 Pro and love em. I have found I get plenty of traction, don’t really need spikes.

I have the Mavens. They’re really nice. Very cushy ride, and great traction. Super nice materials as well. 
 

As far as sizing, I find True tends to run a little smaller than most other brands. I’m a 12 in Trues, typically, but 11-11.5 elsewhere. 
 

I also did the tour department preorder. Got a pair of white Mavens and black OG3s. Love them both.

How do the mavens look in person?  Website looks iffy.  Look very bulky and platformish.  Hoping less thick bottoms irl

I ordered a pair of Maven’s in Size 12 (I’m a size 12 in FJ, Nike, etc). 
 

They are just a smidge too short length wise for me. I then ordered a 12.5 and those were too big.

 

i would say it is a VERY high quality shoe that is VERY comfy. Premium materials and solid out of the box comfort.

 

For me, I just can’t seem to find the exact right size. Worn them twice and they just don’t fit for me length wise (and I would still consider them comfortable despite that). 
 

Can’t return them since they’ve been worn, but maybe my feet will shrink? 😂

They do (or at least they used to) a worn return once a year.  Searching on the website looks like they got rid of that policy, sad.

Not too bulky on bottom?  I prefer the look and price of the player.

Honestly no! I thought I same. I seriously wish these for my feet better cause they are seriously comfy.

Did you go with either of the white colors? I'm curious to hear how easy they are to keep clean with that fabric. I love the look of the glacier white. Of course you can't even order them right now... ugh.

I had planned to go with the Players model, but was also worried when I zoomed in on the material, hopefully a non issue, but no reviews yet.

 

I am kinda glad as I love the OG3 Pro, but will be curious to hear feedback on these.

yeah i did get the white (with blue grey accents) .... trust True enough to not sell a $235 shoe that is waterproof but hard to keep clean.... i guess we shall see tho!

What size True's do you order compared to Nike or a tennis shoe? Is the OG3 Pro sole super flexible or a bit on the stiffer side?

@ajb20002 or anyone who has the mavens. I just received mine and they are super comfortable. Can’t wait to take them out this weekend.  Curious though are they hot on your feet? Not sure if they were just toasty from being out in the delivery truck and my front porch all day.

I’ve not noticed them being hot on my feet. I live in DC, too, so it’s pretty damn hot here.

Players run slightly hot too.  By no means a deal breaker cuz the shoe is so damn good every where else

Ok good to know it wasn’t significant. I tried them on as soon as I got home but the box was sitting in the New York heatwave for hours. Put them on and felt like my feet were in the oven lol.
