TaylorMade Spider 5K ZT - In Hand Knee Jerk Review

I have a CB - cut it down to 36” bc I love the gps in it. Custom installed a counter weight in the grip (25g), and she’s a dream. Also got some hatch to keep the stock cover mint.

Did it stay balanced? I cut my 34 down to 33.5 and it seems to sit a smidge open. I also put a pencil grip on it. Could also be a factor.

Mine seems to sit square and remain toe balanced. I also did something against what I typically do but can’t argue with the results. On my 3rd attempt to find a grip for it, I threw on a LAB press 1.5 textured grip on it. I thought I’d hate it but it feels really good so far and I putted really well on men’s night on Tuesday. I’ll give it another roll this weekend.

I just went from a scotty to a pureroll, feel like my speed has been money after taking a bit to get used to

I had another session yesterday, it's getting better. It's just going to take some getting used to, that's all. Other than that, this thing is money on hitting my line. Seems like it's cheating.

Anyone have any experience going from a Spider GT to this? As far as distance control and feel? Is there a massive difference?

Does anyone know the weights of the three weights in the standard head? I’m a lefty and annoyed they don’t make the CB version in lefty. I want to change the weights to make the standard one into a CB but don’t know what weight needs to be added

I believe they start with 6g in each. I did hear they'll adjust for proper balance so that can't be guaranteed.

First round out yesterday, 26 putts and shot 76 with three birdies. Two holes really cost me the round but couldn't be happier with how it rolled. This one is firmly in the bag!

Unfortunately the only thing it allows you to customize is the length and grip option. No loft, or most importantly, lie options.

I have both. I wouldn’t say the difference isn’t massive, but there are performance differences.

The GT/GTx lines have the PureRoll2 insert which is definitely a bit firmer and faster than the OG PureRoll. It shouldn’t be too difficult of a transition to make, but if you’re playing on greens that stimp <10, there will be more of an adjustment period compared to 10+. The reason TM did away with the PR2 was because their players just didn’t like how jumpy it could be on fast greens. The OG allows for a very deliberate, confident stroke on mid-length putts, which I would say is perfect for ZT putting.

Picked one up today. Got lucky at Carl’s Golfland and a buddy of mine who works there put one to the side for me to pick up. Most of the greens in my area are pretty slow so I’m sure it will take a few rounds to get a feel for it. I’ve been putting with it downstairs on the indoor mat and I’m absolutely LOVING IT! This is my first ZT putter since the LAB B.2 so I’m sure it will take some time to get back in the swing of things but man this thing feels so stable off the face, I also love that it’s much more compact than I expected

It looks like you can now choose +/- 2° loft and +/- 3° lie along with 5 differnt head color options. I don't see any images of the different colors and at this time it is not letting me add a custom putter to the cart.

What weird is this works, but when I get to the grips the off axis one is not an option. It also won't let me "review" or add to cart so I wonder if this is a bug or maybe customization they will offer later (color, loft, lie)

Cross post from the other Spider ZT thread

I got some bad news for WRXer's... I just spoke with Matthew from Taylormade Customer Service regarding this as I was hoping to order a Custom Spider ZT at 35" with a 71° lie angle.

Matthew informed me this was a typo and custom lie angles ARE NOT POSSIBLE with the Spider ZT and will not be offered on September 1st.

He asked me where I got my information and I quoted their website.  He also asked me to send the following screenshots since they do not see the website as we (the customer) see it:
