What driver you gaming?

Not happy with the driver. Currently have the gt2 9* and ventus blue and ventus red.  A gt4 head.  Had the cobra adapt x, gt3, g440lst. I did try the callaway elyte td td and the gt4 was better. I tend to get steep/over the top and spin it to much. Even debating wilson dynapwr carbon, srizon zxi, standard g440 or going back to the g430 10k, or tm core with the weight forward.

 

So what is working best for you?

Depends on the day. I currently have about 20 different shafts at home. I'm a serious head case with my driver. I find something that works and then I feel the need to change the entire combo.

Callaway ai smoke triple diamond 9° with Denali Black 70 6.5 shaft, undoubtedly the longest and most forgiving driver I've ever had. 

I imagine this will be in the bag for years to come.

I have relatively flat AoA and fight high spin, too. Similar swing path, neutral to slightly over the top. I found a TEE C721 at the beginning of the year after re-watching some TXG driver bracket videos. It deserves all the hype it got in '21... Very stable, forgiving, but still manages to be quite low spinning with a nice flat ball flight for being a high MOI driver. Hard to find these days, though

 

Others I've had success with managing spin were TM core drivers, Paradym TD models

Epic Max LS with Hazardous smoke rdx Blue 6.0 shaft. This combo has been better for me in 2 separate driver fittings (end of 2024/start of 2025 season) than anything on offer. I have a Qi10 LS with a Kuro Kage Red shaft just sitting around, it occasionally makes its way into the bag when the Epic misbehaves but it never sticks around all that long.

The combination of distance and forgiveness has yet to be beaten.  Really tried to make the DS Adapt LS work, but the toe strikes just can't hold a candle to what the Ping gives me off similar strikes.

GT3 8.0 has been kind to me, just struggling with shafts at the moment.

 

Fit to a Tensei 1K Blue 65X tipped 1", and hit it "okay". Swapped to a 2024 Ventus V+ Blue 6X, found that nice for a few months, but the draws turned into the hooks and I think it was just a tiny bit too soft for me. Recently tried the Diamana GT 60X which I enjoyed, just maybe a little stiffer in the middle and the kickpoint is a little different than what i've been using for years. Really struggled with a two way miss which is unusual for me. Currently testing the Ventus TR Blue 6X and it feels great. I played a TR 6S last year before moving to X-flex in pretty much everything, so the TR 6X feels awesome, and familiar. More stable than the 2024 V+ to me, but still smooth enough in the middle to allow me to swing freely and not feel like I have to kill it. Trying to dial in the straight 280+ ball.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that not many are playing the driver that I am using.  It's a Diawa ONOFF Labospec R390D.  390cc head with a very deep face.  Low spinning head.  I've always liked a deep face driver and this one seems to fit my swing.

9 degree was fine but still spun too much for my liking.

• Cobra LTDxLS 10.5 - played for most of the past 2 seasons
• Cobra AJ 10.5 - just played for the first time yesterday, will probably knock the LTDxLS out of the bag.
• PING G430LST 10.5 - played for about 2 months. Great driver as well.

Wildcard pick and can get these cheap on eBay for ~$200: Srixon ZX5LS (last gen's model). Love mine to death, I'm a high spin player and that thing kills the spin on the shots to a point where I can loft up because I need more spin. For the price, I think it's worth a shot. I wasn't impressed with the new model which you mentioned. Marginally better performance but didn't love the sound and feel. Sticking with my ZX5LS until it kicks the bucket.

 

Edit: I play mine with an old hzrdus black 6.5 tipped one inch at 10.5º of loft. Got the head for a steal off of BST's here and had the shaft kicking around so I went ahead and installed it

TEE E725 10.5 with an Accra Shogun Green Stiff. 

 

Been ok so far. I got fitted into it before heading over seas and the builder cut it down to 44 3/8" from 45.5". Not getting near what I was on the launch monitor so he's going to put the full length shaft back in when I return. On monitor I was getting about 2300 rpms and carrying 265 with 10-15 yards of roll out with a push to the right side of fairways. I've been seeing 215-230 real world so far with a clearly too high trajectory that balloons up and can turn into a slice easier. Looking forward to getting home and getting the full length shaft in.

Cobra DS Adapt LS 10.5* set to F1 currently. High spin player here and this thing just checks all the boxes for me. Even with my usual toe miss its pretty darn good.

Can vouch for the DS Adapt 10K as well. My dad has it and its ridiculously forgiving.

Cobra DS ADAPT X with ventus black velacore plus but my confidence with the driver has been shaken lately so this weekend I'm putting in a TM BRNR copper 11.5 degree mini instead.

So what is working best for you? 

I have a Qi10 Max with Mitsubishi Diamana BB 63s and it feels wonderful, very easy to hit and it launches well for me.

That’s hysterical!  I have a rotation of Cobra LTDX 10.5, LS 9 and 10.5 and Max 9 along with an F8+.  I have the old UST Elements Earth, Wind and Fire in Stiff in each weight and XStiff in 60 gram weights in different lengths 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

For the longest time I have been a diehard Titleist equipment user, including Driver, up to and including GT2; but after a month, traded it in for a GT3, 10'.  Had a Ventus TR Blue stiff installed and played it for under two yrs until a golf trip late last year. 

 

For sh** and giggles, a buddy and I decided to switch bags.  His irons were AP1, they were respectable, but what got my attention was his Callaway Rogue ST Max 10.5 that has a senior shaft.  For reasons beyond me, I was hitting the bejesus out of it.  Came home and bought a new Callaway Rogue ST Max 10.5, same shaft too. 

 

Over a few months, it started not liking me, honeymoon was over, so had a new Diamana GT stiff installed.  I hit it further and more consistently.  Honestly, I am not convinced the head offers anything different, but matched to the Diamana GT shaft, lowered tee height, and put the ball further forward in stance, it's now yards longer and feeling a bit like an ole King Kong, 🦍 go figure.

I can hit any driver that has the proper specs for me and so can anyone else. This constant searching for a driver is all horse sh*t. Once you know the shaft profile that suits you, don't stray from it. Next you find the weight profile (static weight & full club MOI) that suits you and stick with that. Heads sometimes require a bit of loft tweaking to get the right launch window, but almost all are adjustable which takes care of that. Things like grip size and taper are individual and should be kept consistent also. 

 

You should be seeing a pattern here. It's called consistency. Right bend profile, right weighting, right loft...... Right Driver!!
