Next clubs? Senior or Women’s?

I’ve been playing men’s clubs since I started golfing in my mid-fifties because of my height. At 5’9” I could never get comfortable with women’s clubs. I’m not a great golfer but I like it and still get excited if I have a decent round.  Now I’m 69 and looking to move to a more age sensitive set of clubs.  I’m looking at Taylormade Qi but unsure whether to try out the Senior version or the women’s version. I’ve lost about 3/4” in height. That still seems taller than women’s clubs target. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Ladies or senior flex is more about swing speed and how aggressively you swing at the ball than your height.

The length of the club can adjusted, though it is easier to cut down a club and add weight versus adding extensions and removing weight.

 

A fitting is the best way to find out whether club will help.  At a minimum you ought to find out the length adjustment and lie angle for your swing.

My clubs are 2" short and 2* upright.  My WTF is 31 inches or half my height.

 

I have an LL flex 4  22* iron of the tee or fairway.

Ladies flex irons and wedges.

Senior flex driver and woods.

Agreed with the above in that you need to go hit and see what works. I wouldn't necessarily go all in on a fitting from the start, I'd get some bay time at GG/Dick's or PGA Superstore and try some different shafts in a head or three you think fits your swing tendencies based on a little reading up beforehand. 

 

As far as women's vs senior's, can go for whichever fits you length-wise. Did some digging around and it seems the standard is still that head weights remain the same in similar lines for men's, women's, and senior's. 

 

Get the right length shaft so you can address the ball properly, pick a head suited to you, find a shaft profile you respond well to, then have the lie angle adjusted based on your strikes.
