I checked all the other irons today and they’re all weighting @ D5.   Very consistent!
I swapped the grip to a heavier one on the 8 iron, it’s sitting @ D4 now.  That should give me a good idea whether the D5 weight works or if I need to swap all the grips to get all the irons to D4.

It’s been nothing but rain yesterday, today and through the weekend. I plan on getting some swings in on my simulator tonight and should be playing a real nice course on Sunday. I’ll report back!

Yeah, these are seriously good irons. I'm LOVING the ZXi5 irons in the 4 and 5. I am very happy that I decided to go that route instead of a full set of ZXi7 irons. I'm not saying I can't hit those, but these are giving me better gaps up top, and the flight is perfect. Like @Stephen1125said, they just get up and GO. They also don't get too affected by the wind, whether it's into or cross/hurt. I hit the 5-iron into a 16 mph headwind and a little off of the left into a 198-yard pin and knocked it to about 15 feet. I took that as a huge win.

I am loving this set and couldn't be more thankful for the opportunity to continue to test and provide my thoughts. I'm playing a very nice course that has been on my bucket list tomorrow with a good friend, and I'll do a write-up on how they perform there. So far, so good. I can't wait!

I received the ZXi4 (5 iron) last week and the 2 hitting sessions and 1 time on the course were excellent. Now if the 6-Aw in the ZXi5 would show up. I have 1 practice rd this coming Wednesday & prob 2 range sessions before a 2 day Am event next weekend and would love to get the new irons out to see if I wanna risk playing them in the event.

D5 at plus 1” is pretty solid, surprised they didn’t come in heavier. Wonder if Srixon is using lighter heads for over length builds. I had a lot of success with CTL 115X a couple summers ago, your post has me wanting to give them another shot haha !

I agree. I think they must have used lighter heads which is great. The grips I play are 64g so not wildly heavy either.
I just picked up some heavier grips @ 82g. I swapped another one and it took the club down to D1. I added some lead tape and got it to D3. I’m gonna try that tomorrow. I’m a slight head case and like to tinker.

So my review so far has only been the 5 iron, but I let me 18 yr old son (scratch golfer) and soon to be college golfer try the 5 iron on the range and he was raving about the feel of the club. He currently plays the og Zx7’s and said he thought the 5 iron felt just as soft but more explosive off the face. Might end up getting him one as a driving iron down the road.

Just got back from my golf trip and was excited to see the clubs were waiting for me! Will get them all opened up, spec checked, and start the testing soon. Really thought I might get lucky and have them for the trip, but really excited to take these through their paces at my home course.

In the meantime, here is a quick teaser! Only unwrapped one club but wow is the build quality second to none.

Sorry if I missed it, but what is your setup / build etc?

I got my first full round in with the irons yesterday. The guys I played with play up a tee from my normal so I had mostly short irons or wedges into greens. I've only played up a tee once before. I didn't realize how different the course would play.

As I said earlier I have been experimenting with the swing weights. The irons all came from Srixon at or around D5. I setup the 8 iron to play D4 and the 7 iron to play D3. I had several 7 irons yesterday and I can confidently say D3 ain't for me. I hit all the irons well but only had one good swing out of like 6 with the 7 iron. I think Srixon knows what they're doing so I've got all the clubs set back up exactly how they were delivered to me at D5.

I play a lot of 3/4 length swings with my wedges, PW and 9 iron. They fly about 75% or normal distance and are flighted down. These clubs perform excellently with that shot. The flighted shot spins really well and stops very predictably on the greens.

I had to play several punch shots as well after missing fairways. I used 6 iron and 7 iron for those punch shots. Excellent feel and flight on those.

I spent some time on the range and figured out how to hit the long irons. All I needed was to move the ball up in my stance a bit. I used the ZXi5 4 iron off the tee twice yesterday and once into a par 5. The ZXi5 continues to be the biggest surprise in the set. I mean, I just cannot put into words how happy I am with the flight and stopping power with the 4 and 5 irons.

I would really like to try the ZXi7 4 and 5 iron to see how they compare. I have two buddies that both play the ZXi's, so I'll see if I can get with them and compare soon.

Did you go from TV Jumbo to MCC +4 Jumbo? Only asking because I am oddly familiar with those grip weights at this time because I too play +1" and I am 6'6" but i am trying to do the same thing to get swingweight down on a set of irons. I currently have TV Jumbo on everything, and dug out my backups bc I'm not playing well. Backup set felt so so head heavy compared to my gamers. Ended up not being a fan of the MCC +4 Jumbo for my irons and woods though. Liked it in my wedges actually. I ended up going down to MCC Midsize with 4 wraps of tape. Much better.

FINALLY 😅 the rest of my set showed up today. THANK YOU again to @Srixon / Cleveland Golf for this opportunity. The rest of the set looks just as good as the 5 iron that I had already received. I’m going to try and hit these later this evening if I get done with some meetings. I didn’t even think to request a certain swing weight like @Stephen1125.  I like my irons D3 (5-7) D4 (8-P) and D5 in Aw.  Like one of the other testers my only negative so far is the packaging of the irons. They all had plastic, plastic wrap with rubber band and then wrapped together with cardboard like paper. Several other manufacturers I’ve gotten clubs from use the plastic, plastic wrap rubber band and then foam for each head and also bubble wrap. But I can say that these irons were safe when I got them out. Really excited to get these out this week and see if they make the bag for this weekend or if they wait until next week to get playing time.

So I was playing Golf Pride CPX midsize for a while. I like practicing with no glove, otherwise I'd need a new one after every range session. The CPX grips were super comfy but they ended up wearing out pretty fast. When I swapped to Jumbo grips, I went with the Tour Velvet Jumbos just because they're half the price of the MCCs. I ended up liking them a lot and I've stuck with them.

To change the swing weight I tried the Lamkin (superstroke) Crossline 2.0. They feel very similar to the Tour Velvets and they are also cheaper grips @$6 from dicks sporting goods. The Crossline 2.0 is a no taper grip similar to the MCC +4. They feel great but they're too heavy for this iron build. I don't want to have to add a bunch of lead tape to the new irons so I'm sticking with the Tour velvets.

I did however, put the Crossline 2.0s on my wedges. I had the same setup as you on my wedges previously. MCC+4 midsize with 4 wraps. My wedges already played very heavy so it didn't affect them much and I really like the no taper on my wedges since I move my hands around quite a bit on them depending on the shot around the greens. I also prefer the softer feel of the tour velvets and Crossline 2.0 compared to the MCCs.

since you also used the Corba irons. I currently have the Cobra Tour 5-6 and CB 9-GW how would you compare them to the ZXi in your honest comparison.
Tempted to give these a try. No complaints with the Cobra irons they are great. Just curious if you see much improvement

The CB, compared to the ZXi7, is not as forgiving on miss hits. It's still a very good iron, but the 7 gives me a little more forgiveness in terms of distance control and direction. When I use the ZXi5, it's night and day compared to the CB. I would say it's on par with the King Tour iron, but I have really enjoyed hitting the 4 and 5 irons from Srixon.

Cobra CB - A very good feeling iron that is one of the best-looking clubs at address. It flies true and spins just enough to hold greens.

ZXi7 - Just as good, softer feeling, more forgiveness with a larger top line.

ZXi5 - One of the easiest irons to get up and going, and I feel like you can miss it and it still flies where you need it to go without paying a large penalty. They don't feel as harsh as some irons I've hit like this. It's what has put me off from doing combo sets with other irons altogether.

Congrats on the testers!

Looks like we Srixon is looking for single HCP player who are playing what they consider as competitive line-ups from the neighborhood, namely TM P770 and combos, 925 Forged, and a couple others

All selected players are super active members and can't wait to see them share more!

Thanks. I have to admit I'm a bit disappointed that we don't have a tester with a full set (or most of a full set) of the ZXi4s.

I'll have to admit, I thought hard about it, but went with the ZXi5's (mostly) because I knew what to expect from the previous models size wise/feel, etc. or at least in my mind I did.

So it was a late work night for me with some meetings...but I got home right before dark and took about 8-10 swings with just the 8 iron in the set.  Let me just say that my practice round tomorrow for this weekend's tourney will have the full set of new irons (Zxi4/5) 5/6-Aw to go along with the RTZ wedges I picked up earlier this year.  I was not loose last night by no means, but every swing was near centered every time and they felt great, way better than the Zx5's I had hit last.  I'll see how tomorrow goes, but man it sure is an AWESOME opportunity to have with these.  I should have several opportunities to hit various clubs at this course I'm playing so will know what I'm getting out of these irons and if distances are on par or better then my current gamers.  Will report back tomorrow.

Thanks for the advice. I will be looking for a Combo set on the BST. Would have loved to have the opportunity you had! That’s awesome

The cobra irons are great just looking for something with just a bit more forgiveness

Ok, this is a quick report until later tonight when I have some time to put all my thoughts down & literally cool off (mid 90’s/100+ heat index) Pics to come as well.

Played my first round and first swings with the new clubs other then hitting the 5 iron last week and the 8 iron a few times off a mat on Monday night. It was like Christmas taking the plastic off the heads as it came there turn to be played today 😂. My buddy kept making jokes about it.

The course I played today I know very very well, play it roughly 12-15x a year for the last 13 years. Like I said earlier in this thread today was a practice round for an Am Tourney this weekend…and there’s a good possibility that @Srixon / Cleveland Golf could be going for another win this coming weekend 💪🏼😬.  The combo of the irons & shafts produce a high straight ball flight. They feel great too. Needless to say they’ll be in the bag this weekend trying to represent.

More to come later tonight…😎

Ok I’m back, cleaned, refreshed and ready to roll.

Like I’ve said from the beginning, I’ve been a fan of the Srixon line of irons specifically the 5 series since the 545 came out. I’ve owned the 545, 565, ZX5 MKII.  Unfortunately none of those were ever in the right shaft combo for me at the time so didn’t hold on to them long.

From the second these new ZXi irons showed up it was LOVE at first sight. @Srixon / Cleveland Golf did a Phenomenal job with this ZXi line of irons.  The 4 model has been slimmed up and looks great and feels even better. The 5 model has been refined to my eye as well. Seems to be the perfect size head to my eye. The top line is larger then my gamers, but by no means is it a negative for me.
So today literally 3rd swing of the day (We hit 2 off first tee) was a 138 yd shot to a middle flag. I pulled 9 iron as it’s usually my 140-145 club when I’m “warmed up” based on this loft. Proceed to make a smooth swing that just sores high towards the flag and barely leaves the flag. I did come up a few yards short, but on the green with a 15 ft putt for birdie.
Next iron shot a Par 3 180 yds front pin tucked behind a large bunker and I hit a 6 iron (ZXi5). I hit the ball slightly off the toe and a swoopy swing at the ball at it proceeds to just miss the green and hit the lip of the bunker and roll back into it. For the “miss” swing I put on it I expected to actually be short of the bunker which is about 10 yds deep from the tee. I will say typically a 6 iron for me is a 175 yd club with a normal swing so was very pleased with this result.
I’m not gonna bore everyone with all the shots I took today, but like others have said, the 5 model gets up and just holds its line. I was getting better then expected results on mishits and the same on good strikes. My buddy kept saying all day, “those irons sound so nice when you hit them, I wish I was righty so I could try them” 😂.  And he was right, they have a very nice soft feeling, but also a quiet explosiveness to them too. I don’t know if it’s the Combo of the KBS TGI shafts and the heads or just the heads, but man these are some nice clubs.
I did have 2 shots that I hit off the tee with them that were centered but high on the face that didn’t feel as good (and they shouldn’t as high as I hit them), but they still were only like 5 yards short of my target.

I was nervous about the shaft selection initially, up until this past fall I’ve always played something in the 115-122g weight range before making a switch to 105g graphite (MMT 105s hard stepped 1x). I had never tried or even seen these KBS in any fitting carts around my area, but with them being 100g I figured it was close enough to what I was playing. These are the TGI 100 xstiff soft stepped 1x), and I’ll say these so far feel better then the MMT’s and launch the ball higher as well. So far the shaft/head combo produces great spin and landing angle as all my shots were fairly close to their divot marks.

Like I said above these will be in the bag for my 2 day Am Tourney this weekend and I’m gonna try my best to bring home another Win for team Srixon.

Any questions ask away. I’ll post more after this weekend with another follow up. Here’s some pics as well…

Not to mention, I just read somewhere that it said something like eight out of the last 10 winners on tour have Srixons in their bag.  Definitely JJ Spaun and Keegan Bradley. Though two victories are by Scottie Sheffler with only a Srixon driving iron in his bag.
