Griffin trending to be a lock.

I honestly didn't know how Ryder Cup points worked...here you:

 

Players receive 1.5 Ryder Cup points per $1,000 earned at majors (1 point per $1,000 in other PGA Tour events). Spaun therefore earned 6,450 Ryder Cup points on Sunday, enough to vault him not only into automatic qualifying status but past Bryson DeChambeau to third place in the Ryder Cup standings. Not only does Spaun sit 1,800 points ahead of DeChambeau, whose lone remaining scoring opportunity will come at The Open Championship, Spaun is only 500 points behind two-time major winner Xander Schauffele.

JT trending downward unfortunately post Heritage win & Truist. MCs at the majors. Morikawa rather mediocre in '25.  I hope Griffin keeps this heater going.

 

I don't feel great for the USA...right now.  Hope that changes.

I’m taking Henley, Burns, Griffin, Cantlay, Koepka.

 

Koepka won at Bethpage. Undefeated in singles. I’m sorry yo my just can’t take Novak or Mav Mcnealy over him. 
 

Last spot is tricky. I’m going Cam Young based on form and course fit.

Somewhat agree.  As of now.  Henley and Griffin based on points if nothing else, it indicates good form. Then the last 4 have to prioritize fit which to me,  means putting.

Young is putting well and has the length. 

I like Novak actually  

 

McNealy, maybe.  His SG putting is decent but otherwise his putting stats are pedestrian.  Not sure how that is...?

I had this in mind, I think we'll see bubble players that wouldn't normally play at Detroit, Illinois, Minnesota and/or North Carolina to finish the "regular season".

I think Griffin's done enough to earn a spot on the team. DataGolf has him as the 8th best American player currently. He's also finished top 10 at the PGA Championship and the US Open. I would be very surprised if Griffin doesn't contend at JDC given how weak the field is.

I can see Griffin and Henley playing well enough to lock one of the 6 auto picks.  Bryson's #4 spot is very precarious as he will on have the British Open to earn points.

I may be doing the math wrong, but I think if Griffin and Henley make par (and don't bogey) the 18th at Oakmont that they would currently be at those 5 and 6 spots!! Eek!

Bryson is a lock even if he doesn't get in on points. 2 top 5 finishes in majors this year and Data Golf has him as the 2nd best American going back to last years Masters. I would much rather have him on the team over Andrew Novak.

Yes, for sure he is a lock as a Captain's pick... however, I bet Keegan would rather not have to burn a pick.

I bet after Keegan got snubbed last time around, he respects the players that earn their place. I doubt he feels like he is burning a pick to get Bryson. I haven’t followed it closely but wonder if he just goes down the points list for his picks.

I see what you're saying. But I feel like Henley or Griffin are the 2 guys most likely to knock him out. At this point I think they've done enough to get in. Barring injury Bryson's on. The only spots in question are 9-12.
