Has anyone built a DS-Adapt Thriver

Just curious. I've gone down the thriver rabbit hole in the past with no success. The issue is always the inability to adjust the lie angle to where it needs to be. I think the DS-Adapt is the first driver ever made that has enough adjustability to build a proper 'thriver'.

Most adapters have an upright setting which is what you need to play a driver at 3 wood length at the same effective lie angle as at full length

 

for me the most important feature of a driver that is suitable for a thriver build is having multiple weight ports which can be maxed out to hit the desired swing weight. Going from 45.5 down to 43 inches requires nearly upwards of 20 grams of head weight to get the same swing weight depending where you put it

Cobra does still offer the "Tour Length" driver that plays at 44.5"

 

I dont know why I ever moved away from it but i had a speedzone xtreme and rad speed tour length and had 2 of the best driving years ive ever had

It's a different cog, and has MORE settings. But it doesn't fundamentally change the geometry of adjustable hosels. I would not build a driver just because it has a new cog.

I build one with the Callaway adapter that has been the same for 10+ years.

It's actually the opposite. Shorter shaft produces too much upright effect and the club needs to be flattened.

 

My Callaway COG has no flat setting at all, the DS-Adapt is the only standard cog that I'm aware of that will allow two degrees of flat.

Get the DS Adapt LS, with so many independent settings and 3 different weight ports, super adjustable!

The sorter shaft would be the club on the right, which needs to be more upright.

if you take a club and make it two inches shorter, all things considered the toe will be more down than it would be at the longer length. This means it would need to be made more upright in order to get the sole squared. Going into the flat setting would make it even more toe down - this might work for what you're trying to achieve wiht the club but it wont be playing at the same lie orientation as at standard length

Srixon drivers start pretty upright, then flatten out with different adjustments.  Stock setting might work.  

 

Titleist and Callaway can be set upright independent of loft.
