Look for used or a discounted older model Ping. But, if u really are just starting out, any club u can hit well is the answer.

I really like my LTDx fairway woods (have both the 5 and 7). They were rated highly by MGS testing (admittedly pretty flawed system). But I find them easy to launch and the rails at the bottom help get through the turf. Cobra holds its resale value pretty poorly so I imagine they are going in that price range on eBay or other sites.

Callaway b21 for the win if you can find one. It's not very versatile, but I can't think of an easier to hit club for a beginner. It's ridiculously easy to get in the air!

Cobra 5 woods in particular with the rails which you will see linked below. Especially for beginners and turf interaction are good and  are not to expensive in the second hand market.I got a ping g410 5 wood for like $90 and you are going to be hard pressed to beat ping woods IMO. If you can find a ping rapture 5 wood they still hold up and are unicorns solid feeling and relatively unknown. I linked it , but unsure what flex you are after.

I picked up a Cobra Radspeed just to try a 5 wood a couple years ago and absolutely love it. I'd try that or an LTDx

You can get a Callaway Rogue ST Max D 5 wood on CPO in "very good" condition for around your budget. 

 

I would look hard on CPO. Pings make a great fairway wood, but they tend to hold their value better than others. Cobra doesn't hold its value well at all, so lots of good deals on those on the used/secondary market. Mizuno is worth a look too, great clubs, but their fairway woods and drivers are very overlooked, and can be picked up for steals.

I have been looking on eBay and I’ve decided on the 2015 Adam’s tight lies 2 5 wood I hear a lot of good things about them and for $30 I can’t really go wrong.

I'd recommend considering a "tweener" club, something that gives you some hybrid design characteristics and shorter shaft length with fairway wood distance. The face depth will also make it a good second option off the tee for a beginner. 

 

Cleveland hy-wood 3+ in "like new" condition is  in your budget. Ignore the "Strong 3" description, that's based on hybrid lofts because this club is something between a hybrid and a fairway wood. The loft puts it in the 5 wood range.

Another option that you can still find relatively cheap is the Cobra F6 Baffler, which is 18 degrees in the standard setting.

 I have a 2013 Adams Tight lies 7W (ladies, since I like the color better) with a Project X 8C4 (82g) shaft, that is impossible to replace 

 

They made two versions of the 2014-2015 club, one was stainless steel, the other Titanium….. the Titanium one is higher launching, and a bit quicker. 
 

The only comparison to the Tight Lies I could make with Modern OEM  5 woods would be Ping’s or PXG’s, but loft for loft, the TL holds its own with those. 
 

Great club, especially if you are hitting it off the fairway, I feel there are none better

LogicOne head only is like $30...add a 70g shaft to it and you are golden. Great looking head for inexpensive!

D7 was a good one too. Very long and under the radar for a bonded head.

I would say everyone talking about cobra used market being under costed is spot on, I have a cobra speed zone 5wood and love it off the tee or out of rough, I believe the last model with the rails is radspeed so I wouldn’t go any newer then that if you are looking for easy of use and forgiveness.
