you ask for examples. People tell you what they think. You don’t like it and dismiss their opinions.

Is that what’s discussion is to you?

But they provided nothing of substance.  "Have a pulse" or whatever is just noise.  Everyone has a pulse if they're actively playing golf.  Try a little--- who should he emulate?

Yawn

You’re the arbiter of “substance” now?

have emotion or a pulse is a fine enough response. Sorry you can’t accept that. He is who he is. Some people find that boring. Why do you care so much? Is he your son?

No it's shallow and thoughtless. But if that's cool with you then go for it.

Truly not trolling. Genuine question. America is not the preeminent golfing country now?

Four US golfers had a very good day today, in calm conditions.  But I believe the leaderboard looked pretty international through day 3.  It is truly an international game.

Lack critical thinking. Now Shallow and thoughtless.  None of those are true but….

How about adding condescending and entitled to your list of qualities? At least you’d be correct there

Did anyone watch the world feed?

I enjoyed the World Feed (the combination of Ali Whitaker, Tony Johnstone and Nico Colsaerts worked well together ie entertaining and no quick listening-fatigue)

… for folks with access to both NBC/Peacock vs World Feed … would be nice interested to hear your comparison… I just hear complaints re NBC… but they can’t be that bad, no?

Why do I have to explain to you why I think Scotty is boring? When people say have a pulse etc that’s not “nothing”. Why don’t you explain to me why I should care what you think? Critical thinking? Please dude give us a break haha

Watching the end and he can’t barely muster a wave to the thousands that paid to come and watch him play and then is all gaga with his baby on the green with the camera. I get it you’re a family man or whatever but it’s a little self involved, no? No one cares about your kid

But if he had his dog, everyone would love it.

Never mind.

Mostly Wishon with a few Tour Edge Exotics, Cobra, Cleveland, and one Odyssey mixed in.

I really want to be happier for Scottie as he’s obviously a great guy but he’s just so relentlessly dull! 😴

I never thought SS is dull, esp. not n person or off camera. Seems media and his competitors don’t think he is either.

“Scheffler is witty, Jordan Spieth says. And when you’re witty, one activity comes as easy as Scheffler’s swing.

“He s**t-talks,” Spieth said.

“You can’t really go at him because he’s smart, and he’s got good bulls**t.”

For everyone that thought SS was expressionless, what were they watching or not?

Throughout the round, TV cameras spotted Scheffler and LI laughing, and afterward,…We did a joke about each other a little bit and just so nice to play with him.”

It should also be food for thought for the course management system teachers that the dominant player plays this way.

They tell even tour pro's that they must hit one shot shape and trajectory when the dominant player is doing the opposite (never mind that almost all the great players shaped it both ways even if they had a preferred stock shape e.g. Nicklaus, Woods, Tiger, Phil, Hogan all moved it around).

SS isn’t a bomb n gouger. He’s plenty long enough and swings w/in himself. Typical swing keeps some power in reserve only for special situations.

This adds to his accuracy but keeps up w the longer hitters.

Throw in the shot making and ball flighting, no wonder he’s always top ranked on shots gained approach.

Regardless of any X factor or questions about charisma:

Tiger’s swing was a lot more visually appealing.

Don’t tell tiger that.

He never liked his swing, it was the reason for constant swing changes and regular swing coach changes.

He would be the first to tell you he kept “getting stuck” as Haney detailed in the big miss.

I’ll say it again, Scottie will win more majors than Tiger.

SS isn’t entertaining that thought.

“Scheffler, however, says those Tiger comparisons are “silly.”

“Tiger won, what, 15 majors? This is my fourth,” Scheffler said Sunday, the claret jug by his side. “I just got one-fourth of the way there. I think Tiger stands alone…

“I’m not motivated by winning championships,” Scheffer said Sunday, elaborating on his answer about getting closer to Tiger. “I don’t look at the beginning of the year and just say, hey, I want to win X amount of tournaments, I want to win whatever it is. I don’t do that.”

don’t place much emphasis on winning tournaments. I don’t place much emphasis on things that I can accomplish. It’s just mostly about putting in the proper work and coming out here and competing.”

nor is the media saying he will:

I got to meet a lot of other volunteers at the US Opens I worked. Almost to the person, they were pretty fanatic golfers (weekenders, casual golfers generally don't volunteer, in fact a lot of them probably wouldn't even know that you can volunteer). Serious golfers actually understand the value. It is about the experience.

Being a volunteer, however, is different. (in terms of just money, it is well worth it) but there is something much bigger than that. it is being part of a tournament.

Guess I’ve been volunteering longer or more than you. Most tournaments, I’ve worked had an option to direct your hours to support a named/write-in charity when registering.

As the non-majors are big fundraisers for local/regional charities, raising $2+ to 7million/yr, have met an innumerable # of Vols there to support a charity. Thats how I started volunteering to help a charity.

Have seen many tournaments have rl large groups 100-1000 of Vols come out to support their charity. Sometimes they’re rl easy to spot as they all sit in vol tent or work together.

To a volunteer, all have been great to met and work together. The stories and retelling of amazing situations and “war story” occurrences that never make tv, radio or golfwrx.

You will likely meet a fascinating array of people from all walks of life. Not all are golfers but all have story to tell and knowledge to pass on. Some Vols who are golfers have become future foursomes and playing partners.

Warning if you’re not careful you might end up volunteering or promoted for even more tournaments and or playing courses you never got to play before.
