2025 ISCO Championship

This is the tenth running of the tournament now known as the ISCO Championship formerly the barbasol. This year same as the last 3 years its a dp tour co-sanctioned event.

Held @ Hurstbourne Country Club in Louisville Kentucky. this is the events first year at hurstbourne.

 last years champion: Harry Hall 

 

Cause this is a co-sanctioned event and an altfield event there no notables in the field however here's a list of honorable mentions:

Kevin Roy coming off of back to back top 10s

Daniel Iceman coolest last name in the field

Emiliano Grillo coming off of a ch.. heartbreaking playoff loss

Jackson Koivun still an AM even though he earned a tour card in may at the NCAA championships

Robin Williams not the late comedian 

 

this years tournament will have full shotlink coverage

tv coverage will be bare minimum

thur - friday 4 - 7 pm est GC

sat - sun 5 - 7 est GC

the genesis is technically not a pga tour event so that exemption doesnt apply while the isco is a pga tour event

Seems like it pretty much is a PGA Tour event at this point. Both it and ISCO are sanctioned by both and the field is dominated by PGA Tour players.

Keep an eye out for local player Carson Johnson. He was a star of the golf team at our local high school and later at UT Chattanooga. He recently accepted the job of coaching the high school team. 

 

He qualified this week and will be in the field. Wishing him a great experience.

I know this isn't a KFT thread, we don't really have those and this might be the closest thing.. but the 13th hole this week on KFT measures 773 yd.  I know, its altitude. That is still a long damn way.

Should I stay nearby or out and away from the city?

Course 7000 yards. Doesn't seem to be obsolete to me. Doesn't look like they need to purchase more land to put on a golf tournament to me. Are they playing with modern equipment in this PGAT event?

 

Maybe it's 7300 yards, but you get the gist. (unofficial)

week started with a 61 by chan kim which was 4 strokes better than second

and its seems like william mouw has ended this week with a -61 to win on sunday and again its the best score of the day by 4 strokes what symmetry ;}

Always best to stay away from Louisville.  I avoid anything north and east of Elizabethtown as a rule.

Depends if you want quiet with limited options (away from city) or more To Do options (in city).  It shouldn't be a problem to find a suitable hotel in & around city and/or the course (look east of I-65 and inside I-265).  MANY great restaurants scattered around L'ville.  Downtown stay options are good for several bourbon tours, L'ville Slugger, etc. NULU has growing dining & nightlife, Bardstown Road north of Waterson Expressway has has good dining & eclectic options.   Further out is for sleeping.
