Hitting/Practice Matts from Amazon?

With Prime week here, I was thinking of getting a new hitting matt for my outdoor net. But it always seems like a tossup with Amazon.

 

Anyone have any recommendations for a matt off Amazon?

I strongly encourage  you to spend the money and get a fiberbuilt mat. My first golf mat was a decent mat that I purchased from amazon. It cause me disastrous physical issues in my wrists and elbows. It even got to the point that I had intense pain around my sternum where the ribs connect from the impact of the mat, and I'm even a very shallow/picker ball striker. 

 

I was at the point that I thought I would never hit off a mat again and would have to be done with the simulator. 

 

Then I got a fiberbuilt mat. It has been fantastic. No more issues in my wrist/elbows from the impacts. Be very careful if you purchase a mat from amazon, if you do I would definitely put some foam mats under it.

What you can also do is buy a cheap stance mat like so and then buy a small hitting strip like this one (you can choose the 1' x 2' size at checkout). Cut a hole out of the stance mat and stick the hitting strip in there. I spent $155 on this setup, put the whole thing on top of some foam I had laying around in the garage, and I've been able to hit 100 balls a day with no discomfort. And I'm steep as a cliff most of the time.

I'm just using some cheap EVA foam matting I had laying around, but I've seen other people who put more work into their setup say that they used horse stall mats, which seem a bit higher quality.

I felt OK just hitting off the EZ Tee Hybrid hitting strip sitting on concrete too, but since I dealt with some bad elbow pain in the past, I just wanted to put it all up on foam just as a preventative measure.

Yes, Whatever you do, don't put a cheaper mat directly on to concrete.

It sounds like adding a foam under-layer would be enough of an upgrade to be worth it, without breaking the bank. And you can probably find that sort of thing used on Facebook Marketplace or something. Get creative.

I have used the interlocking padding you would use for a home gym or on the garage floor. Cheap and works fine.
