New Callaway Apex UW in Steph Curry’s bag?

Caught a quick glimpse of it on Instagram, looking like a clone of the Elyte titanium fairway woods with the paint job, but retaining all of the good features of the UW, this will be interesting…

Could be an unpopular opinion, but I like the old school fixed hosel on this club. Just need to find a way to give the small amount of purchasers the tour truck experience to build the loft and lie to their specs 🙂

I typically would be on the side of wanting adjustable, but the OG UW is so good I just don’t care. 
 

It does help for me that stock they are on the flatter side and they are pretty neutral flight wise.

Well, I just bit the bullet and ordered a 23 UW on eBay and then came over here to see this. Womp womp...

 

Let's hope this new UW releases before the end of the year. It's really a great club. I have the 17, 19, 21, and now the 23 all on deck to fill any gap that is needed. An incredible gap filling club on the long side of the bag.

 

What are everyone's thoughts on its hosel size? Fairway shaft choices are great for the 19, but when looking at the 21 and 23, my options begin to get limited looking for 80g and pretty much only Ventus or Graphite Design for 90g class shafts.

Titleist gt1 or tsr1 hybrid probably fits what you are looking for. The 1 lineup sits nicely between hybrid and fairways. They carry lefty throughout whole line up. Really sucks callaway and Taylor-Made limit options when you think they would be biggest players in the field

Actually when I ordered from Callaway I could only adjust lie and not loft.

I once ordered a 19* UW adjusted to 18* and 1* upright 🤷‍♂️

Glad it’s not adjustable. Callaway’s adapter is so fat and obtrusive it would make any Apex UW styled head look downright goofy.

 

As for lefty options, the reason Callaway and TaylorMade skimp out is because lefty clubs don’t make money. Lefty offerings operate at a loss more than people realize. Titleist cares more about creating a higher quality tool for any discerning player, whereas Callaway and TaylorMade care about money more. It’s not truly that black and white, but it’s how I envision it.
