My 2024 TP5 and 2023 V1x trials....

So after jacking up my game this spring with trying new balls (Srixon, Cally, etc) I went back to a couple familiar faces that I play, have played, and enjoy. Would have never guessed that trying different balls would lead to such chaos on the course lol. 24 TP5 and 23 v1x. Spent the last 2 rounds going back and forth and I really think I like the 24 TP5 better. I especially like the driver flight, its a nice mid-high launch that gets out there. The v1x is a lower more boring trajectory. Nothing wrong with it but I prefer the higher flight. I can control both with my cut. Thru the bag the TP5 flight is higher for me. Around the green the v1x feels softer and I believe for me it provides more check on the green, but the TP5 isnt that far off TBH.

Overall - 2 great golfballs and I have settled on the 24 TP5. I suppose I will load up end of season as TM will probably release a 2026 version. The TP series has been hit or miss with me.

I am in the same boat but with the TP5x pix

I tried the Chrome Tour, BX, Maxfli and Maxfli x

The only ball I did not try was the Mizuno ball.

I just went and bought 2 dozen TP5x with a $10 coupon from Dicks

I thought about the Mizuno but I did not want 3dz balls to try out after I bought 2 dozen Maxfli balls

I still might give the Mizuno a go when I get through some of the Maxfli balls and they might have a better sale then.

But I will be on the lookout for end of season sales of the TP5x pix as well

I will say the Maxfli x is the closest I have come to the TP5x

Latest gen TP5/TP5x are TM's greatest reiteration of each, IMO. Such huge improvements compared to previous models, IMO, with maybe the exception of '19 TP5x, hehe. Honestly, I could play the '24 TP5x or CT TD/left dash(gamer balls) and not miss a beat

Agree on the 19 5x, that ball was dreamy. After that I went away from them as I did not like the new iterations. 24 TP5 was the first non X ball I played in years and loved.

I messed up my own game fiddling with different balls this year. Went back to my ‘24 tp5x and my game came back. It’s due for changing next year so might just stock up on the current model 🤣

I forgot to add I am using the TP5 with the striping on them. I initially didnt think I would like them, but gotta say on short and mid range putts (to about 15ft) I use the stripe for my put line. Outside of that range, I dont use the line and focus more on lag speed control. The line has been beneficial for me and Ive made some putts and had more lipouts than ever. Im a fan.
