Cobra DS-Adapt Max-K - Legit?

Hey guys, 

 

Hope you are well. I've traditionally bounced around from Callaway TD's and LS TM models, but I've been reading lots of this Cobra Max-K driver that have me thinking a lot.

 

Wondering if anyone has moved from these shapes to the Max-K, and your thoughts? Currently have a QI35 LS in the bag but I have the wandering eye....

 

Only concern is spin potentially being too much for me to handle, and whether the Max 430 10k might be a better fit. Penny for your thoughts!

Been gaming the Max K for couple weeks and I like the driver. On trackman, center strikes was spinning in the low 2000s. Some miss hits got up to 3k though. I swing it at 100mph with my Di 7s and turned the driver down to 8 degrees and 1 flat.

 

Very forgiving driver and seems to keep the ball pretty straight even when I tried to shape it. 

 

My previous driver was the 440 Lst and this Max K is longer on average.

 

Got the DSA Ls on the way. Got the feeling the LS is over kill and probably will be too low spinning for me.

I switched from the QI35 LS to the DS-A LS a few months ago and spin has stayed under control, and I’ve gained a little more consistency and distance. I really like this Cobra line-up. After all of the hype this year, I decided to grab a Max K using the same shaft I was using in the QI35 LS and DS-A LS. Though it’s super forgiving, spin has been a bit high for me on this one. Even if I bring the loft down a couple degrees it’s still a little bit spinny.  And I’m not a high swing speed guy. 105 to 110 mph on average. The DS-A LS is a better low spin option in my opinion.

Interested to see what you think of the LS v the Max K. Have you always played the 7s in in DI?

Have you tried bumping round shafts in the Max K to make it work at all?

Will report back when I have some data from the Ls model.

 

It's my first time using the 7s in my driver. I've always used 6s before, but I noticed I was swinging my 3 wood with a 7s faster than my driver... so I figured I'd try the 7s in my driver. For some reason, I swing heavier shafts a bit quicker.

Yeah. I threw a Tour AD-VF 6X in it this week. Helps some. I think the LS with Ventus Red VC+ is still more optimized for me, but it’s early. The Max K with VF shows some promise. I need to spend a little more time with it.

Nice. I'm very tempted to throw a VF in the Max-K, but I think I'll see how my ventus blue goes first and get some baseline numbers.

I have played about 5 rounds with it, the first three were pretty amazing, but I believe the honeymoon phase wore off after that. It's a very good driver, but it isn't going to be leaps and bounds better than anything else out there.

Is anything tho? There's no such thing now excepting bad or lesser fits.

 Been playing the Max-K with Ventus blue (velocore +), the thing is just ridiculous.

I'm still digging mine. For a 10K head it does a great job at controlling spin.
