Two Buried Lies Beside Each Other In Bunker: What To Do?

I saw this on the golf course the other day and had to take a picture.  Two shots both went into a greenside bunker.  The green is to the left of the picture and the white ball is directly in line between the orange ball and the hole.  In a match, what does the player with the white ball do?   He cannot merely mark his ball and lift and replace, since playing a buried lie from the orange ball will likely gouge out the fried-egg lie of the white ball.  One can argue that the lie should be recreated, but this is a lie impossible to recreate perfectly.  This situation is detrimental to the player with the white ball.  What are we supposed to do in this situation?

You mentioned "match".  In that situation, the orange ball is to be played first.  If the owner of that ball decides that the white ball interferes with his play, he can ask the owner of the white ball to mark and lift his ball (the owner of the white ball cannot decide to do that by himself).  After the orange ball has been played, if the white ball's lie has been altered, the original lie of the white ball is recreated (see Rule 14.2d).

I don’t think the term “recreate perfectly” is in the ROG.

One doesn't need to "argue", one must merely follow the Rules, see 14.2d(1)

Agree, all good guidance.

I note a further option that the players in a match have - they can agree to play out of order to save time. That may (or may not) occasionally be helpful and reduce the amount of faffing around with repairing/recreating etc.

Yes, this is often overlooked as a possibility. The key is not to play out of order in order to gain advantage. In OP case time saving could be significant.

I have sent in questions relating to scenario of multiple objectives - playing out of order to gain advantage AND to save time. Response was "permitted" - as long as saving time is part of it, all okay.
This is similar to 8.2 - you can get away with bad intent providing you are caring for the course.
