Had a chance to roll one today. So, unfortunately I was able to roll it head to head against a Toulon Las Vegas First Run and a 2025 Las Vegas, (full disclosure, I've owned a handful of Toulon's and feel they may be the best club/company on the market). I say unfortunately because the 9.2R is a really nice putter, but I would pick either of the Toulon's over the 9.2R. Visually I think the size and shape is perfect, and it's very cool to have a tour inspired head shape with the plumbers neck. The alignment line, the super deep black finish, it looks great.

But...

The face milling. It's nice, like I stated above. If I didn't have the Toulon's to compare it to I would rate it very high, especially in that it's not an insert face. Both of the Toulon's put a better roll on the ball and the feel was also better. Feel is subjective right? For me the Toulon's were slightly softer, all of them give good feedback on strike location. Also, the grip leaves a lot to be desired, but I'm not a fan of the matador Cameron grip. Toulon has a similar grip for their putters, but I also have the option of going with a Lamkin Deep Etched at no up charge.

My thoughts...

10/10 Looks

8/10 Feel

2/10 Customizable

5/10 Headcover (wouldn't be surprised if the velcro starts scratching the finish over time, but that's speculation)

For what it is, I really like it. If I never rolled a Toulon, this would likely be a purchase that I'd take to a shop to get adjusted to my specs, likely change out the shaft and definitely the grip. Cameron missed the mark on not letting people customize the loft/lie/length. And that's a minimum ask, most of the other brands for clubs in this category are giving options for specs and also grips/shafts. I won't say this feels like a cash grab by Cameron, they are just behind the curve compared to what others are offering.

Agreed, the Toulon line is really really good stuff. My only complaint would be the new stuff, at least the first run, has a weird sole lip on the stainless into alum plate. It catches on grass for me sometimes, the older stuff didn’t. Other than that they nailed the milling for feel and the Vegas looks perfect to me. The new Vegas is too rounded and looks like a seven but I get that’s personal probably.  I also really like the single bend shaft Cameron does, double bend doesn’t set up for me. The 9.2R I got is underwhelming, it’s not as soft as the straight 9 model, but the rounded edges and site line are better than retail. The grip is total garbage, and I used to swear by matadors… feels like putting with a “condom on”. Just mutes too much feel

I agree with your ratings. Just got one home and carpet rolled it. The whole-face milling is growing on me. It looks better in person and has a nice texture. I’m thinking of wiping out the grey to apply clear-black and a shaft swap.

Holy crap, are we the same person? Ordered the 9.2r from my club as soon as I saw the announcement. However, in between ordering it and the arrival I bought the 2025 Las Vegas H1 at Golf Galaxy and have had an unbelievable amount of confidence with it the last two or so weeks. Now I'm staring at the Scotty at home and loving the looks (probably more than the Toulon surprisingly) but just can't justify knocking the Vegas out of the bag...

A while ago I was able to pick up a brand new 2025 LV H1 with the Diamana for under $600. It's automatic, such a great set up. The Scotty 9.2R is a really nice putter, but it couldn't kick the LV out of the bag. Getting older and getting better at listening to common sense, as much as I love the tour looks of the Scotty, gotta stick with what works.

Yeah I think my plan is to send it back to Toulon in the offseason and get the graphite shaft put in.

i think today I figured out the difference, the assistant pro at my club that works on all my clubs found that the Scotty has a lower swing weight so we might play around with the weighting in the Scotty.

I got my 9.2R today. It sits really square. Scotty has figured this out so that no matter how you ground the putter, it will be square. With the 9.2R they mentioned that they used an “009 style) neck. I guess that just means they used a plumbers neck. The 9.2R neck is shorter than the 009 and the toe hang is not near as much as an 009. Here are photos below comparing toe hang with the 9.2R, the SS Fastback 1.5 and 009M.

Stunning head. Big fan. Swapped out shaft to an ACCRA SYNC 135 and grip to standard SC Phantom full contact stock grip. More stable than the 105 LAGOLF I have in a Lajosi blade, stable, almost harsh but not. Wouldn’t recommend shaft if you like “light” putters or SW.
