Launch monitor under $200

I'm looking for a new launch monitor under $200, ideally around $150, for outdoor use. Accuracy is my top priority, and I prefer one that doesn't require a paid membership to access its features.

If you are only looking for swing speed, ball speed, and carry, the PRGR is probably your best bet around that price range at $230. Otherwise you will need to increase your budget quite a bit if you want more features and/or accuracy.

100%. At this price point I'm not entirely sure any launch monitors are worth the price of admission.

Correct. I have a prgr, its a speed radar not a launch monitor. I wouldn't use it as a LM

$150? That’s 5 large buckets at my local range. 
 

Seriously, there is absolutely NOTHING where “Accuracy is top priority” and “$150” match. Nothing.

I’d look for a used PRGR at that price point. Great for swing and ball speed. The distances are estimates based solely on ball speed and club selection so your results will vary there. My iron distances are close enough on good strikes but it overestimates my driver distance.

If you find an actual launch monitor (and not a speed radar) at that price point let me know because that would be the deal of the century.

It is basically the same as the PRGR (only more expensive and less accurate from the comparisons that I have seen), only ball and club head speed are actually measured, carry distance is calculated based on a lot of assumptions. Basically the more data points that are measured, the better chance the calculation has at being accurate. As previously alluded, these are more on the toy side of the personal launch monitor spectrum.

As someone who has the plus version of that, it's a speed radar.  It is accurate on ball speed (or was; it's been having some perplexing data lately) and consistent on swing speed.  

 

The distance numbers are calculated, not measured, and are usually ballpark.  Do not expect +/- 10 yd accuracy.  Moreover, and YMMV, do not expect consistent ball speed numbers from partial wedges.  I usually launch them high, and it has a hard time.  More flighted wedges, it picks up easier.  Not even talking bad distances, it has a hard time with actual ball speed on launch >30°.  That said, I've liked it a lot for the $$$.   

 

Cheapest, consistent, accurate LM used to be Skytrak.  I don't know how good Mevo, etc has gotten in that space.
