Lowest spinning Left Handed 12 degree driver

Any ideas here for pops....     Currently playing G440 max 12 degree turned up to 13  - He hit my LST 10.5 turned up and it ran by his on the ground.... Is there any low spinning Left handed 12 degree heads.

The Qi35 core head is pretty low spin just have to turn a 10.5 head up to 12°. Could also try the LS which is super low spin.

 

Bigger question is what are their dynamics like and where is impact on the face?

I wish I knew.. he would never go to get fit... he hits it like 220 still  age 70   ---   Is the elyte standard - lower spinning than the G440 max...  

 

Would hot melting his 12 degree ping make a difference?  and lowering the back weight

He has the chrome 65 regular and velocore red 5 regular   - tried the alta.. but spun too much

At that age and distance he needs spin not reduced spin.

Why not just set his driver at the minus setting? That will decrease launch and spin and lower the decent angle to get more roll.

He doesn't generate enough speed to do that, spin will get the launch up. Lower spin will give him knee high line drives.

I'm not aware of low-spin 12 degree drivers out there. Anything 12 degrees is usually the more forgiving max model which is usually on the higher spinning end. The Ping Max models are higher spinning than the LS models, but if he has excessive spin, it's probably a swing issue or he's hitting it low on the face.

 

If you're looking for something that launches higher AND spins lower, the only way I see a shaft being able to do that is if he starts hitting it higher on the face because of that. The only way to see if that's possible is to test some shafts.

Seems a difficult fit to need more launch, and less spin with a 12° head set at 13° . ……Maybe a ball change ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 

 

I’m on the opposite end of the spectrum always looking for lower launch with more spin, so I just use a higher spinning ball

yeah, I got him into the chrome tour... spins less than pro v... but bounces off the green for him lol. haha.... hes very difficult.. hense the thread.. wish he would go get fit!   Blind buying drivers is expensive but part of the Golfwrx community lol

Tell him to bite the bullet once and go get fit.  It will save him a lot of headache and money in the long run.

This could be a fool’s errand you are embarking upon. Rolling past your ball isn’t meaningful with more context on how far you hit your drive on this instance. What if Dad hit his Sunday best with your driver? 220 yards total at 70 yrs young is solid! How much of the 220 is in the air?
 

If he’s generally getting good distance and dispersion with a G440 Max 12° on small + hosel setting, test his club at standard loft with weight heel side. If the 1° of face closure on his G440 Max makes his slice go away then he needs a draw biased head. Ping is heavy headed even with a counter balanced shaft. Is the club an HL model with the lighter back weight?
 

If Dad’s on the hunt for a new driver now consider Elyte X in 12° might be good with Vanquish 4R. Test the light weight model TM Max Lite 12°, Callaway Elyte Max Fast and Titleist GT1 12°. 
 

In my fittings with older golfers I like to see how they respond to an overall lighter system. IMHO, many older golfers over estimate their driver distance and think they hit it too high. I live in a pretty dry area so many of these older golfers hit the ball really low and are dependent on maximizing their roll.

Tour edge has the Hot Launch models that would give added height which are adjustable 2° up and down, but they won’t be low spin

They have a HL 15° driver as well, but it looks offset. 
 

Even the Max MOI models that are their flagship E721-E725 models come in 12° with a 2° up or down setting, are lower spinning compared to other High MOI drivers ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Cobra DS-Adapt Max K 12° would be a no brainer. Enough spin, but not too much and the FF33 hosel makes it completely adjustable. Fade bias or draw bias independent of loft, which can be higher or lower from stock… whatever pops needs.
