Matching all your sets?

I like many on here have a few sets of clubs, but does anyone have them set up the same i.e., getting the loft, lie and shaft length to one standard specification?

Its pretty black and white I need everything irons / wedges +2 lie or I can't strike it.  Loft I try to match what it shipped with, minus wedges I'll mess with some as needed a degree or 2.

I play them as they come to me, except for putting on good grips when needed. No real playability issues so far in 4 years of doing it.

Goodness no. I have sets ranging from the 1940s to the 2020s, so trying to bring them to the same spec would ruin at least some of them. 

 

I can see moving clubs upright or flat if that's something that you are used to, but changing lofts from what they came with ruins the clubs. 

 

Play them as they were designed and enjoy the difference.

To echo what others are saying, play the lofts what they shipped with. Comparing them and trying to get modern lofts doesn't make sense. If you want high launch / low spin, just get a set of those.

agree with the above....Measure the lofts of the clubs you enjoying playing most. Then measure the lofts of the other sets you have (or might be considering to appropriate). Takle into consideration, loft creep over the decades. 
So when you play sets, other than your favorite, you can still consistently play the lofts you enjoy.

Imo lofts don't matter. Especially when you play with fewer clubs. If a person is average height, standard lie angles work. That said, with vintage clubs I find that occasionally I have to adjust my setup to match the lie angle. I agree with those who have said don't mess with it. If a club doesn't work for me it may be because of lie angle, but then I'll find it a new home 

 

Vintage putters seem to have strange lie angles, but you can adapt easily enough.

 

I'm finding that playing with vintage clubs requires a change in thinking and adaptability of shot making, including opening the face to increase loft and hooding to decrease loft on certain situations. So for me, I take each club as I found it and play.

Think most of us would go broke if we put that much thought into it.

 

I pretty much just regrip em. Try getting close on shaft flex. 1950-70 clubs seem to play stiffer bye at least half a flex. Watch for possible alterations, who knows how many bending modifications have been done over the years plus abuse. Most of the minty sets  we find you don’t have to worry that much cuz they where lightly played. They reshafted ones or more well used ones I try and be a bit more open minded at first. I’ve had some wedges weakened a couple degrees but I’ve never went stronger on irons. Been advised against that. 

 

I don’t concern myself about length that much. The modern mindset is I need a specific length club. Along with loft creep over the years, length has increased a little and lies have flattened over the years. I just crowd the ball a little more.

I've bought a few sets where I've had to weaken lofts to get them back to their original specs, and I do bend most of my irons upright to suit me.

 

I've a few sets which I've either reshafted or extended; mostly 80s and 90s Mizunos, which come with the PW at 35", which is about 0.5" too short for me).

 

If it's an iron set I'm not going to play that much, I'll likely just regrip if necessary, check that the lofts are close enough to what they should be, and adjust the lie to my liking. 

 

I've had a couple of long irons that were 4° flat off the original spec, and I like about 2° upright. No way I am going to hit them well like that. But bending them 6° was a little nerve-wracking.

I've had the lies adjusted on several forged sets, any of which I'd take out for a round with confidence.

 

some of my old cast head sets however, can't be tweaked by 4* - so those lay unused, unless the course is full of right turns.
