JDM 8802 Style Putter

Curious if anyone likes/loves any of the 8802 style putters coming from smaller JDM players. The Epon Zen looks amazing and the Masda L is nice but no milled face on a $400+ putter is tough imo

would prefer something heavy like 370g+ heavy lol

Love this topic.  You could try to find a yamada but I wasnt a huge fan of theirs.  I play a long neck tp mills that I got on ebay japan but I don't know if its necessarily JDM but I love it.  The Epon Zen is crazy heavy, too much so, I didnt love it.  Never seen the Masda in person.  I'm sure @tsupo will weigh in at some point.  Also didn't love the Makino one I gamed it once and sold it.

man your making me want the epon even more. I play a scotty that's 390g in the head so id love something heavy

... Not exactly JDM but 'Murican made. I played an 8802 for close to 30 years before switching to a Bobby Grace 6630. With an insert and perimeter weighting it is very forgiving for a heel shafted blade when faced with really long putts. Hard to find used ones but this refinished one for $625 is on Bobby's website. New is just silly expensive.

Thats a nice rig there sir. While I love Murican made was hoping to find a bargain on something for my JDM only set

I share my findings just looking around briefly for any future interested parties. I'm sure theres more but heres a lil summtin

Yonex Super ADX Tour Forged - heel shafted, chrome finish on the one I saw, decent looking rig. 
Mizuno Pro 9001 & 9002 - 9001 classic 8802 style, 9002 is more boxy. original release 1991. forging looks great
Epon Zen - mentioned above 
Masda L - mentioned above
Bridgestone Jumbo Ozaki - dont have much info on this, probably from around '90-95, heal shafted

Jbeam L&M33 - Heal shafted, looks like satin finish, only about $100 on ebay

Onoff Ol-1 - Black finish, face insert. not my style

these 2  customs  go ok.

 

 masda ,  heavy head, dense impact.   super  solid roll.
finish on it  is  superb.

yamada  razor  lighter    ,super fine milling  for this  one.
great  distance control

that's a beauty mate.

 

I'm looking more for some JDM options that tickle my fancy, happy with my putter just love farting around with the 8802 style joints.

I purchased a few cheap 90s Mizuno Pro models and will report back on my thoughts when I get them in hand
