Swivel Base for Loft/Lie Machine (alternatives?)

Looking to see if there are a good way to make one myself.
Anyone in here manage to DIY a reasonable alternative to the Golfworks/Golf Mechanix 360 swivel base for loft and lie machines?

The unit would have been a buy if I lived in the US but with the additional costs of freight and added import costs this unit winds up really expensive.

For context, I have the GolfWorks Economy bending machine which has got a pretty small footprint so the base doesn’t necessarily have to be enormous as long as it holds up to the force of bending. 🙂

Sorry don't have a link - but I do remember someone posting about a DIY version of a stand somewhat recently (within the last year or so). Don't rember if was specficially a swivel type of base or not. Have you tried to use the search functionality?

Showing my bias...but if you have a nice sturdy workbench, and matching sturdy vice, you can clamp that bending machine in the vice, and save having another monument in your garage taking up space.

I've bent 17-4 Ping's in my similar setup many times, and it works just fine.

I put mine in a vice as well on my workbench. I also have another vice and a 2" trailer hitch mount that I throw the loft/lie machine on so I can adjust for friends or whatnot.

Yea, on the fly adjustments at the golf course. I bring my portable air tank too!

I've bent a set of irons and regripped with air 30 min before tee time for a buddy before.

I recently bought one of these Harbor Freight Doyle's, and it's a beast. 68 lbs.

Another good option is a Yost. Amazon has these.

A good sturdy vice will be an heirloom. Gift it to your grand children in your will.

Feel free to post some pictures of your bending machines mounted in vises! 🙂

i figured I wanted it to stay as low as possible toward the workbench to keep unnecessary momentum down during bending.
I just feel like mounting it straight into a vise would possibly introduce a weakpoint where it could move during bending and then all of a sudden you have to check what moved; the actual hosel of the club, the club in the machine or the machine in the vise (if that makes any sense?)

Not sure what the benefit of a swivel base would be, I have mine mounted directly to my workbench and never felt a need to move it but if you really want it maybe look at ordering it directly from Golf Mechanix. I ordered a loft/lie machine directly from them mainly because GolfWorks was showing out of stock for an extended time. It was shipped from Taiwan and I got it in less than 2 weeks, even with the additional customs charge it was a little cheaper than ordering from GolfWorks.

It’s mainly a matter of space.
i’m in an apartment. Have sacrificed half the kitchen area already. 😄

Swivel stand would make it a lot easier to bend all ways RH/LH with limited space for the bending bar.
