Thoughts on new clubs???

I currently have Titleist 704 CB irons, but have been looking to get a new set and pass these down. If it matters, I usually shoot under 50 in 9 holes with 42 being my best and 43 a couple times. I believe my best 18 was a 91. Any decent sets I should consider?

Also, looking for something to last about the next 10 years

I don't really know what you're looking for in new irons, but I'd take a look at the '23 Titleist T200s. You can stay with a brand you know/like, and now that the '25 T-line is out the '23 T200s should go down in price. They look like players' irons, but they're packed with plenty of forgiveness and lots of feel (I think they feel and perform better than the T150s). Now, the shafts you get in them could be a big part of the equation for you -- but the heads themselves are just so good.

Go to a shop where you can demo some new clubs as well as some newer uses stuff if at all possible.

There are plenty of great options now that have a classic look like what you've been playing but you should be able to find something within that longer and "more forgiving" if thats something your looking for.

Just got my T250’s. Couldn’t stand the 200’s and played the 150’s (when I shouldn’t have been).

I preferred the looks, sound, feel of the 150’s over forgiveness which thankfully the 250’s checked all the boxes for me.

I would go to your big box store and try all the latest releases. You can get a decent deal on a return set that might even have your preferred grips installed. Or find what you like and get an even better deal on eBay.

All the major manufacturers , and many others make “decent” clubs. You really need to be fit properly , which is another topic.

Clubs don’t “last” any particular amount of time. Technology can change , yes, but they’re hitting the limits on technological improvements. Once properly fit, the clubs can last a lifetime - Providing you don’t improve, your swing speed doesn’t change, you don’t get injured, etc. Or wear them out, which takes far more golf and practice than the average golfer does.

Ping seems to be a love or hate brand but the G440's are as point and shoot as it gets in my opinion.

Interesting that you hated the 200s. What shafts did you have in them? I’ve got Recoils in mine, and I love the combo.

Scores really aren’t much in terms of info relevant to new irons. As said, find a place where you can hit some various irons and see what works for you and if you are serious get a proper fitting.
