Earlier wrist hinge.

Eliminate excess head rotation

Those two things will help you solve the actual problem.  A backswing that is WAY too long for a 7 iron.  Too long for a driver in reality unless you’re competing in long drive.  Other issues will start to align when these are addressed.

Edit and addendum….Grip pressure looks too loose

To build on what @MonteScheinblum said:

image.png.70f7546f28b838956eecdebcf1160695.png

Right hand is opened up there, the longer backswing with the poor pivot leads to a shallow shoulder turn that requires you to drop down as you do from the top to get to the golf ball.

Lotta work ahead if you want to do it. But you have speed, and that's tough to teach, so you can get pretty good if you do put in the work.

Grip, setup, and then P1-P3 work is advised. Then add like 10% to get to what should be your actual P4.

Figured this would be on the hit list, the wrist hinge convo is hot lately it seems.

Yup, this is your general checkpoint:

ScreenShot2025-07-25at10_18_35PM.png.33127a1f1b7af1141bd6e59a4a140999.pngScreenShot2025-07-25at10_21_49PM.png.18ab476b6d839c82168ff0add4370b21.png

Note specifically the differences in the hands/arms and shoulders. You're basically throwing a rigid structure of straight arms and straight wrists behind you. Your left arm is pointing a mile right of your target and your right arm is mostly behind your chest. Your shoulders are also already near 90* and your head is already torqued towards the camera. If you stopped your swing there and attempted a downswing you'd look like a 25 hdcp hitting shanks/hooks/duffs etc. Compare to Adam who's left arm is pointing at the target, right arm slightly bent and both it and his hands very much "in front" of his torso, and head squarely focused on the ball. If he stopped his swing here he'd be able to hit nice neutral punch shots, and he does

As Monte and Iacas mentioned, learning to hit shots from this position has the knock-on effect of cleaning up so much of what comes next. And with your speed you *have* to tighten up these things because your misses are liable to be off the planet otherwise. Don't think of it as sacrificing speed for control btw, this is very much learning *how* to control the speed you do have, which is clearly there.

Thanks for the reply.

I’ve noticed the arm angle before, but never put it into context that way. It makes sense and gives me an easy checkpoint in the future.

Also makes me feel like my current turn being mostly turning of the body is likely supposed to be a series of  shoulder/right arm/hand actions. Can’t think of how else I would keep my head even close to that still while getting the club to that point.

George Knudson had a couple great points, but not about the swing itself, more about physical relaxation. I.e. blood pressure and heart rate shouldn’t be elevated.

Too many players are above 100 bpm and 120/80 reading on a shot. But that doesn’t apply to what OP needs, I just mean it’s possible to have full active control of the swing and still be relaxed.

Yeah, Bob Ross dude.

Give me ACE inhibitors, I’m still shooting a 90.

Bottom line: if you don't have an effective swing from left arm parallel that allows you to hit any club in the bag solidly you don't have a functional swing. However, if you do tighten things up and get to a pretty neutral position at P3 everything else becomes exponentially easier.

This is why so many of us religiously suggest working on P3 swings. I've said it hundreds of times, but the backswing from P3 to P4 will feel like nothing more than a small shoulder turn of a couple of inches, but that's only true if you've set that up by being efficient to P3.

As @Valtiel said, you would have a really tough time playing golf from your P3 whereas Adam Scott would probably break par from his.
