What’s in the Garage?

     I just started cleaning my garage and this pile of golf clubs, shafts and parts keeps growing. Had me thinking, I’ve see what’s in everyones fancy bags but What’s in your Garage?

I keep no golf equipment in my garage.

Whatever golf clubs aren't in the basement, golf balls, tees, golf shoes, boots, ammo, hunting gear, tools, firewood, fishing gear, tons of other crap.

Some older drivers (2002-2012) still wrapped up from a move 5 years ago. Everything else is inside my work room.

Some golf clubs, fishing gear, 2 bicycles (down from 8 at one time), lots of tools, and a full cycling simulator.  The garage is the man cave. 

 

Clubs are limited to 2 sets of irons a very small assortment of drivers and hybrids and a few putters.  

 

I have more cycling gear then golf gear.

Pretty much the same, except most of the ammo is locked up.  But not all of it 😉

It all stays in my man cave.  My reasoning is I have a better idea of when I have too much (well to be clear, I always have too much, but when it gets out of control).

A Set of Mizuno MP33 that I am still playing at the SIM (at the garage) and a lot of different Wedges with different Loft and shafts that I did buy just for a try. 6 different 6 irons for the same reason. 
oh and a set of Srixon ZX7 that I replaced earlier this year and I am still Not sure if the replacement was a good idea.

Thankfully not as much stuff in the garage as there used to be. I cleaned out hundreds of clubs a few years ago when I moved and have been pretty good about keeping the stockpile low. 

 

Garage:

- 2 backup sets of irons, 1 set of Mizuno MX17's that have been loaned out a few times and my old set of single-length Cobras. I should keep the Cobras in one of those "In case of emergency, break glass" cases. 

- A handful of various loft wedges, a few old putters, 2 mini drivers, 2 fairway woods, a driving iron, a couple hybrids, a PXG 0311 Gen 5 driver, and a nearly-new TM M2 12 degree driver from a thriver experiment that never happened. None likely to ever be played again, but I could easily put together a nice "visitor" set if I needed to.

- A friend's set of clubs. He's moving back here in the next couple months so they're hanging out here until he's back. 

- About 6-7 pairs of golf shoes. 

- 2 push carts

- Sim setup: Rapsodo MLM2Pro, NetReturn net (and the net I was using before), mat, tv, old iphone. 

 

Workshop:

A bunch of shafts, grips, clubmaking stuff, tools, a couple sets of clubheads, some training aids, small stockpile of balls, gloves, 2 travel cases, and other goodies. 

 

I thought I had done a pretty good job of keeping my golf stuff out of the garage until I took this inventory. My wife's parking space is still clear so she's not complaining, but I guess I should still do a little cleaning before she notices it. 🙂

Titleist 712U 3&4 irons, ping g30 stock shaft, ping anser 3&4 hybrids.  I have around 103mph chs, but dont practice or play enough anymore.  They are in an old bag which i call the 200 yard carry graveyard.  I picked up the hybrids out of winter boredom and found that I am erratic with them.  The utility irons have good memories, but arent useful enough.

I also have an old Hogan staff bag that is just full of random single clubs, old wedges and other stuff that I haven't touched in along time that I have no idea what is all in there at this point.

I keep zero golf equipment in my garage after I found rust spots on a set of iron shafts years ago.  Inside my house  I have a few Scotty Cameron limited releases, a set of Adams CMB irons that I just can't bring myself to sell, 1/2 a dozen driver shafts and an assortment of hybrids/driving irons/long irons that I switch out of my bag from time to time.... Oh and old wedges, lots and lots of old wedges that I need to sell

I had a nice second set of clubs that my wife talked me into trading in earlier this year.  Her argument was that they were taking of space and not getting much use (fair).  My argument was "who knows when someone needs to borrow a set?"  I finally relented; but now we have a friend coming to stay with us next week and he's not flying with his clubs, so I'm bumming a rental set from another friend. Ugh!
