Cobra King Tour Equivalent

Cobra seems to have a unique offering with this club that I wish other manufacturers would copy. A medium sized forged cb iron w/ some tech that feels great and is crazy forgiving. Are there others out there that I’m overlooking? I am a PING fanboy and these seem to sit between Blueprint S and i2xx series.

... Right there with you! I was playing the original AP2's when the Amp Forged were released. Ignoring the gaudy orange cavity and visible weights on the sole I thought it was the best iron ever produced for the size, shape, with a thin topline, narrow enough sole and the performance I want from my irons with enough forgiveness to make a difference on slight mishits. I have played every Cobra players iron since that OG AF with the Fly Z, Forged Tour, MIM, Forged Tec (just a few rounds), King Tours and now 3DP Tours. Starting with the best hosel transition ever, the shape of the short irons, the 8 iron transition and the shape of the mid/long irons are just unmatched imo and like you I am shocked others don't copy the roadmap supplied by Cobra. If these would have been made by Titleist they would be the #1 irons sold by a wide margin. I think Rickie switching from small MB's to King Tours tells us everything we need to know about them. Workable and accurate enough for a PGA Pro with the forgiveness a low/mid index player can appreciate.

Agreed. My final 3 irons at my fitting 2 years ago were the i230, King Tour and T150 in that order. I went with the KT mainly because of feel as the i230 actually had slightly better dispersion. I don't regret getting them at all and as a 9 handicap I can attest to their fantastic forgiveness.

I disagree that 243’s are similar. They’re great clubs but not similar in my opinion.

243’s in lower lofts (all I can directly compare) have more offset, look larger and are not as soft feeling.

I have a 241/3 combo set in the classifieds…cobra mb/king tour knocked em out of the bag. Less offset all around just suits my eye.

Both sets are 6-pw 241/MB and 4-5 KT and 243

There’s just a little tech in the King Tours, which is what I love about them. They’re also mid-sized, not too compact. Really a nice iron. Feel great, look great.

The New Level 702CB+ is an iron that in size and feel reminds me of them. Not much “tech.” It has a milled slot to produce a lower CG and more perimeter weighting and a tungsten plug in the toe for CG and MOI. Head is single billet 1020 carbon steel. Rolled leading edge.
