I'm late to the Jordan 1 Low G party -- need some sizing help, please!

I can't deny the comfort of the Jordan 1 lows (just putting my feet in them in the store), but I feel like I'm between sizes -- so I need your help.

 

I'm a 12 in the Air Max 1 G shoes from a few years back, and am a 12 in the current Air Max offerings. I am an 11.5 in the Jordan ADG3s, and I tried on the VP4s and am a 11.5 in them. But these Jordan 1s feel pretty roomy in 11.5 -- and I have narrow feet, so I DON'T need a wider toe box at all (just need to fit for length). The 11s fit like a glove, but I'm wondering if my toes would feel a bit cramped by the end of a round. ...Or do the 1 Lows stretch/give a little with time?

 

In a nutshell, I'm wondering from those of you who have worn these shoes for some time now whether you went down to a smaller-than-normal size, or went with the roomier size -- and what the result have been for you. I'm concerned that the smaller size might not give and stay perfect with each wear, and also that the larger size might just stretch more with time and get even bigger and sloppier-fitting with use.

EDIT: Incidentally, my right foot is @ 1/4-size longer than my left... So sometimes when I fit for length for that foot, the left shoe in always in danger of feeling a little too long...

Definitely size down. I'm usually a 10.5 and I bought 10s based on info from this site. They do seem to stretch out a little and sometimes I wonder if I could wear a 9.5 in them for a more snug fit.

Ok, so if they fit snuggly to start with, they WILL stretch with use? That's very helpful info.

 

I'm not an 11 in anything (except Cole Haan shoes, which clearly run large, since I'm not an 11 on those foot-measuring devices)... So, getting these in 11 sounds kind of crazy to me -- but is that your experience? That you're never a 9.5 in golf shoes -- but that they might actually be even better than the 1/2-size-down ones you got?

It's been years since I had them new to remember, but the 10s I have feel a bit large and sloppy now when I wear them, like 9.5s could work. But I've never actually tried 9.5s on.

 

I'm never 10s in regular shoes, only rare odd ball size shoes like the Killshots am I a 10. 

 

With Nike's free shipping I'd suggest multiple sizes and just return one, but I know not all buyers have a Nike store local to them for easy returns.

Exact same for me. I’m a 10.5 in the non golf AJ1’s (and most shoes in general), and a 10 in the golf version. Zero complaints.

Any comment on the fit when brand new, and whether they got looser/tighter with wear?

I always wear 9.5 in all sizes. I think generally people like to size down with Nike, but it's really if you're on the cusp of between sizes. They do fit exactly like AJ1s and also mostly perform like AJ1s in terms of wear-and-tear.

Loosened up a little. Surprisingly very comfortable for me.

im normally 9.5 in all nikes

ordered 1 lows in 9 and there is more then enough room in there

they are super comfy out of the box and it feels like they will loosen up in the long run anyways

UP? in the 1 Lows? Wow. These things are pretty huge in the forefoot already.

Jordan 1 G is the same width as regular Jordan 1, but the sole is slightly longer.  Jordan 1s are going to be more wide foot friendly than Air Max 1s... and most Air Maxes in general.  So in your case with narrow feet, you should size down.  However, if your toes are touching the tip with 11, then go with 11.5.

 

Jordan 1s while it may not be the best leather, it's still leather.  Over time with use, the leather fibers do loosen, but this can take a long time... depending on how much you wear them. If the width is snug, consider half size up if your feet tend to swell by the end of the round.  You could wear them casually the break them in more.  As long as you're not the type that drags their feet, the treads will be fine.

I had one pair a full size down and then got another .5 size down at a later time. I can wear both but the .5 size down is my preference ,I still wear the full size down ones but mostly when only playing 9. The full size is however totally wearable and as you said just snug, but i don’t find them as comfortable.

 

for reference the full size down were the original wolf grey, the half size down were the treated white with gum bottoms. I’m not sure if they made any sizing adjustments between those two releases

They are not comfy unless you have a cart and minimal walking they are ok

 

def for style not function (at least the 1s)

 

Jordan 12s I found to be more comfy for walking but still a basketball shoe with spikes

Go with the smaller size. They’re leather and they’ll break in some.
