Qi35 Tour

I need some woods/hybrids and was messing around at the shop and surprised by how good the Qi35 tour 7 wood looks. Doesn’t look small for a tour head and just looks like I could hit it well. 
 

For those that have them, what do you think of them? How hard are they to hit over the core or other models? I tested a g440 7 wood and even with a low launch shaft I hit it way too high. Swing speed is kinda high at 115mph with a driver but don’t always hit the center of the face. Don’t have issues with launching or getting spin on anything. I want it to be good off the deck but also good for a shorter tee club. That’s one issue I’ve had with Ping fairways. I tend to hit them too high on the face so looking for something a little deeper.

Try Qi35 tour with the weight shifted forward, and maybe lofted down a bit. Just beware that a 7 wood is supposed to hit the ball high. I'm sure Qi35 will be lower, but it's always going to be a 7 wood.

Yea I figured with the adjustment on the weight I could find a setting to make it work. It also looks a little closed stock so figured I could loft it down slightly and still have a square look without being too open. 
 

They had like 3 in stock. Forget what the other 2 shafts are but 1 had a tensei 1k black stiff which matches my driver shaft.

FYI they do have 1k black in 85g if you like heavier shafts in your fairways. I do. It's the only 80+g fairway shaft they offer I believe. 

 

 I have a Qi35 core 3 wood. I'd demo the core model as well JIC. Even most the tour players aren't playing the "tour" head ironically. The core model this year is just so good.

Yea I wouldn’t do the tour head in anything but the 7. The core 7 is not adjustable and out of stock through TM for like a month. The tour 7 is also out of stock if I was going to order something custom. 
 

The core 5 wood looks very good to me as well and I couldn’t decide what I liked the look of better between it and the tour 7 wood. The core 5 wood had a hzrds black that I think would be good for me and I’d turn that down to 16.5 or 17.25 degrees. 
 

Ideally, yea I’d probably want an 80 class weight shaft in the tour 7 wood, but I’m probably going to be reshafting everything as I’m in stiff shafts and swinging a lot faster now.

Another vote to test the core. I never expected to be in a TM fairway this year but this thing is just so good. 
 

I custom ordered mine from TM with a gen 5 hzrdus black.

Yea I’m thinking just going core 5 wood and 7 wood. 5 wood turned down to be like a 4 wood. Just hoping the core 7 wood isn’t too closed since it’s bonded. Maybe could send it somewhere to be bent if it is.

If you’re worried about that for the 7 wood, I’d go choose one off the rack and have it re-shafted with your desired shaft. They all sit slightly different at address.

I just traded in my tour 3w and 7w for the core model 3HL and 7w. My club had a taylormade demo day and the core models were so much easier to hit in every way. More forgiving and less curve. I was pretty blown away. I figure if the core models are what most of the pros are playing then why am I, as a 7hc, messing with the smaller heads? I guess I fell in love with the idea of all the adjustability but after about 6 months of never touching the sliding weights or hosels I said screw it.

Tour 7 wood was hot for me, even with weight all the way back. Distance control all over the place.
 

Got the numbers I wanted after lofting it up, but face looked too closed for my liking. Ended up with core 5 wood at 7 wood length and it has been automatic. Flies high and straight.

I have the core qi35 3 wood and I cannot recall the last time I liked a 3 wood as much. Versatile and very playable. 
 

Definitely try the core 7 wood. Maybe try the Elyte Triple Diamond 7 wood. But for you on ball flight an adjustable 7 wood might make a key difference. Might also want to look at the Srixon Zxi 7 wood. Gets rave reviews. All titanium head, adjustable hosel.

I was set on getting an elyte Ti or two but then comparing them to the Qi35’s, they are pretty small heads. Might be the same issue with the TD’s but I’ll take a look. The Qi just has a very inspiring look. Not too big, not too small. 
 

The ZXi’s do look good. When I was testing drivers I liked it a lot. Just sat very open which was the only con for me. But that was just the driver.
