Taking a #1 on the golf course (was disciplined)

Member of semi-private course. Took a #1 in the trees on my golf course (I'm a male). 15 minutes later another member (female) walked up to our group on the green and told us it was rude to take a #1 on the golf course and we should use the portable washrooms. We apologized and moved on but the jokes for the next 2 hours were priceless. 

 

This got me thinking.....doesn't every male take a #1 in the trees?

Hopefully, I’ve known a couple different guys that’ll just stand next to their cart and go; don’t even really try to hide.

It’s frowned upon on our course and will quickly get you suspended if someone sees you do it.  But our course a) has very few good spots to do it unnoticed and b) has a restroom every 3-5 holes.

 

I don’t have a problem if someone does it, but you have to find a spot that nobody can see you.  If a woman saw you, you weren’t in such a spot.

our course in California is surrounded by houses ... its a great way to get you kicked out of the club if you want to not use a bath house

I am 65. In recent years I have developed issues so I have become bold going #1.

 

Sometimes I have no choice. One minute I am fine. The next minute the urge hits and if I don't relieve myself right then I am going to pee my pants. It's not an every time occurrence but it happens to me sometimes on the course.

 

If I can't hold it I try to find a spot out of sight but if it isn't possible I am still going. If someone wants to complain to me about it and they can't understand my situation then so be it.

 

My answer to the OP's woman. I am sorry I had to go.  I couldn't wait. If it is something that bothers you why didn't you look away? Then I would say if I was you I would complain to the course there are not enough bathrooms on the course.

 

Most courses I play have one bathroom out on the course. If it is not close to where I am I am not going to make it.

 

I had a woman come up to me in the park and tell me she didn't appreciate watching my dog c0ck his leg and pee on a tree. My reply to her was why didn't you look away? my dog doesn't like people watching him when he pees either.

Wear Depends or male incontinence products.  When my wife passed I donated the adult diapers to the food bank as it they are highly valued.  I've worn them myself for colonoscopy inspections to avoid soiling the car.

If there is a real bathroom,  i use it.  Most places i play have portable toiltets sitting in 95 heat. 👽 Zero chance I'm going inside one of those.  Some exposed courses you gotta plan a little but most courses have plenty of places to discreetly take a leak.

I play with guys who can't make it nine holes, whatever, but she wasn't out of line.  Their needs are induced in general by beer consumption, but not exclusively.  My wife commented as we were walking the vast expanse of Hyde Park this spring (where restrooms aren't all that plentiful and likely not easy to find for those in "need") that if it was a golf course you'd see some guy behind every bush but magically people manage to hold on for other activities, haha.  I can go about all day without having to worry about such things - golf, hunting, fishing but like in "The Godfather" - "You gotta go, you gotta go".

Yeah, i do and could care less. I drink about a gallon of fluids. I carry a bag, I'm older, not playing with full bladder over some stuffy Karens.

I was playing Peachtree in Atlanta over 10 years ago and there are no bathrooms on the course, or at least I didn't see one. I ask the caddie we had if there were any around. He said "you just gotta do a single? just go over in the trees, this here's a men's club." Maybe I was overthinking it but at a fundraiser for a high-end private school at probably the highest-end club in Atlanta, I just waited until I got back to the clubhouse. 

 

To the main question, yes but it depends on what course and where I am. If I can find a secluded spot on a course, if I gotta go I just step aside and do what's gotta be done. Wide open course or a private course where I'm someone's guest, definitely not.
