Aldila DVS or MOI - any thoughts or knowledge?

Looking at DVS or MOI shaft for I-Mix

Hello All: I hope this is the correct forum. I'm looking at the DVS and MOI shafts from Aldila. Has anyone played these? ANy comments on them? MY ss is 95 to 102, not sure about R or S flex. I have FT-i LCG draw and FT-5 neutral I-mix heads, curious how these would match up....

Thanks to a goof up in the Callaway repair dept I ended up with a HyperX with a DVS (they lost my original club and let me pick any shaft as a "We're sorry").

Any way I have a swingspeed right at the numbers you note. The shaft is in a HyperX 10.5 in the 60 gram version in regular - tempo a little on the quicker side for me. The shaft held up fine to my swing. I just did not find anything special in the shaft - certainly nothing for me that would justify the kind of money you are talking about - especially in the iMix line. For me anyway this shaft was not nearly the Redboard is. So the HyperX/DVS is sitting on the auction block - and the Cobra 454/Redboard is still in the bag.

I will comment on my Aldila MOI shafted Tour Issue Hyper X Tour, very smooth shaft, and in my opinion the sleeper shaft on the season. It is a great design with the taper tip, as these are made for the 200+ gram heads.

I have the same swingspeed as you and I have a Ping G10 driver with a DVS60stiff. The shaft is awesome. I have played diamana bb, speeders, and rombax. The DVS is as good and imho better. The stiff flex is just right and allows me to swing smooth or jump on it. The shaft handles both swins extremely well. The shaft is smooth with a strong kick with reletive low spin. I am a high launch/spin player and the shaft has worked great for me. It worked so well in my G10 driver that I ordered a G10 3wood with a DVS70stiff. The 3wood combo is as good as the driver set up. The DVS is a great shaft ;)

I have the DVS 65 Stiff in a TEE XCG 10.5. My swingspeed is 105-110. I absolutely love the shaft. Smooth feel, loads and releases well, easily holds up to an aggressive swing, and I have no worries about going left. I'm hitting this combo longer than....well, you get the idea. Big thumbs up from me!

My SS is about 90-94 with a smooth tempo. I play the DVS 60-R in my I-mix head and it is plenty firm for me. A very stout shaft. I honestly believe it feel firmer than my NVS 75-S in my 3W! I should check the frequency numbers on the ALdila website. You can order both shafts from TGW, tell them that you are trying them out, and they will let you return the one you do not prefer in 30 days or less. I have already asked them about this.

I play the DVS in my driver and really enjoy it. Mid ball flight will adequate roll out. I really think you should consider trying it out. I’ve been hitting my driver so well that I ordered my TEE fairway wood with the DVS as well. Can't comment on the other shaft though

Thanks for all the input folks. I picked up the 60s, thought maybe needed regular, but convinced to stay with stiff for control and my quicker tempo (can't change an underlying type A)...

Anyway, played today in my FTi LCG....all can say is WOW. LIke everyone said, high. low if needed, sneaky long....cracked one 308 today that looked like went not too far, then rolled a ways, marked with SG5....sweet.

Great feel, even compared to Speeder I HAD in this monster. Baggin' this one for a while...

HIghly recommend this shaft, smooth feel, great kick, swing easy or hard, works both ways....

Appreciate everyone's insight, now to think about adding an MOI - iMix shaft ho out of me :-P :)
