The Path-Pro was designed by one of our members. Hifade I think? It has gotten some really good reviews and is probably worth checking out. Personally I have never used any but probably should.

I had one exactly like that, but, it was too hard to adjust to the individual.....(it was given to me).......so I took the basic design and built my own thats easier to use and MUCH quicker........I use it to give people a basic understanding of how the golf swing works.........how the clubhead travels.......etc. It REALLY makes it easy for a beginner to understand swing arc, plane, path, etc.......gives them a basic understanding of what the clubhead is doing in response to certain movements, etc.......

If you are attempting to go from a 2 plane to 1 plane swing, would this contraption work. If so slicefixer, how about how you built one for $40. It would be most appreciated.

I used schedule 3/4" schedule 40 PVC and my imagination........a few pics and a your imagination is ALL you need to build one for yourself......

 

I drew it out on my paint program so that I knew exactly how much PVC to buy.....how many fittings of each type........bolts/screws, etc. Then went and bought the materials and started cutting and gluing........took about an hour or so to build. The next one I build I"ll make some changes from the "prototype "...:birthday:

 

First I'd use at least 1" PVC for the loop and 1.5" or larger for the base and frame.....mine is a lil' bit "flimsy" if you REALLY start trying to swing aggressively.......I'd also put sand in the base PVC sections BEFORE gluing as as to NOT have to drill them out and do it later through a 1/2" hole.......took awhile......hehehe

 

Its really NOT that big a deal........I think the most important thing is to draw it out.......TAKE A HARD LOOK........then make changes........TAKE ANOTHER HARD LOOK......changes....etc. It took a helluva' lot longer to draw it out and buy the materials than to put it together.....

 

Disclaimer: I've been building "teaching" aids that I've dreamed up out of PVC for many years........so I do have quite a bit of experience with the primer/glue......fittings......different types of PVC......etc. I HATE paying for a teching aid IF I can build it myself. Many times I can build it better than the original. I can make a damn good version of Leadbetter's clubsetter......:birthday:

 

I've got a buddy who's got an infomercial coming out in February and IF its successful he wants to patent and market one of my other "original" PVC creations the ingrains a perfect pivot.......plane.......path........alignment, etc.

 

Basically I tried to take every reason I could think of for using "shafts"/chairs, etc. and work it into one PVC "machine" that if used properly allows a beginner (within 30 minutes) to make a pretty darn good pivot with their "core".....which, after the fundamentals, is IMOP about 90% of a golf swing. Its similar to the machine Mike Bender is selling nowadays, but, would be MUCH easier and cheaper to build and as a result would be a helluva' LOT less expensive.........an IMOP it would work equally as well if not better.....but I'm predjudiced......:D

 

I tested it myself.......filmed good player students golfswings while using it to see IF I could see improvement.........I did.........then built about 3 or 4 protos and gave/sold them to students of mine so that they could give me their "critique".......very positive........so far so good.......:)

 

ANYBODY can do the same thing IF they use their imagination.......all it takes is a knowledge of EXACTLY what your trying to accomplish......."what "feel" are you trying to ingrain".......then get to drawing.......then build a proto (which will probably suck.......hey, its the 1ST one)......learn from it.......re-draw changes......build another one.......same......
