I think he just wants access to their practice facilities and what-not.

Nobody wants to get cut from a team, but I'm sure it's deeper than that.

He obviously doesn't need the scholarship, and college golf is not really a sport where you need exposure to make it (like say NCAA Basketball or NCAA Football) so if you got insane game and you work hard, you'll break through.

 

I'm not taking either side at this point, because Duke definitely has some skeletons and college-brat-entitlement is everywhere, so I don't know who to believe.

 

All I'm saying is, getting cut from a college golf team or losing a golf scholarship isn't as harmful to a potential pro career as it would be getting cut from a basketball or football team.

What's a legitimate vs. a non-legitimate excuse? Besides EOE issues (racial, sexual, religious, etc.) which would obviously NOT be legitimate, can't a private institution just simply say, "We don't want you"?

its non-legitimate when hes kicked off for "flipping his putter to hit bag from a few feet away from it" and "zipping away in a parking lot" its things everyone has done and sometimes still do... and why he must pay for it is ridiculous. yeah its a bit immature for him to do such things, however we all are guilty of doing it so we all are immature.

Who cares. He could have looked at the coach funny and that is a perfectly fine reason for the coach to make a decision. No justification necessary. Some coaches are jerks. News flash. Move on.

news flash. you cant be dropped from ncaa golf for looking at a coach funny.. the coach legally is in the wrong. he should be penalized for it too. in ncaa sports, everyone has an opportunity to play and can be CUT if other players beat him/ her out or they break a ncaa rule. so far, he hasnt done either.

Duke has a reputation after what they did to the LaCrosse players. The school is scummy like the local DA who got disbarred. The Lacrosse players were immediately convicted in the court of publioc opinion. Seems like people are pounding on Rudy's kid because they do not like Rudy.

 

Rudy's kid may be a brat but Duke's reputation is even lower than some bratty kid.

 

I expect someone here will complain to the WRX net cops here and I will get banned. Tough. If you cannot exchange ideas here then it is a sorry place and I don't need to waste my time.

You left out some things...

 

He admits to throwing an apple at a teammate's face, nearly breaking his nose, and throwing a club, among other indiscretions. He is also almost universally disliked among his teammates, cannot function in a team environment (which might explain why his record in amateur and PGA qualifying events is so much better than his collegiate record) and holds the 12th best scoring average on a team of 7. His own lawyers wrote about the apple incident in the filing, which has been conveniently left out of the discussion...

This topic is going nowhere. Choose another thread to discuss golf, not the bashing of Duke or Giuliani. Personally, I don't care for either party, and I am sure not a Duke fan. But worse than all this, is wasting the bandwidth. Move on.
