Intersting stuff on TourSpec

I very rarely patrol this area of the site so if this has been said 1000000000000 times then I apologize. I made two interesting observations and 1 cool find on TourSpec.com

First observation is that nearly none of the Japanese heads are untraditional in shape, i.e. squres or triangels. Some do exist, but it looks like they like their stuff traditional....and I love that.

Second observation, and maybe someone can shed some light for me does sonartec still exist as Royal Collection. I thought in the past that they were one in the same, but I know that Sonartec recently went under in the states.

The coolest thing was you can buy alot of the diffrent companies, exclusive to that market, club heads as components. I dig that because if you look at my signature I am a majority component player.

Royal Collection existed prior to Sonartec. Sonartec essentially licensed & rebadged Royal Collection.

Sonartec, as you note, is gone.

i'm pretty sure royal collection is the parent company of sonartec. the sonartec clubs were basically just older models of royal collection clubs.

No parent company stuff at all. It was a licensing deal.

Most JDM clubs are actually non components with the exception of Geotech but most could be ordered with different shaft options or built by special account retailers/builders. Most of the time, you cannot just buy the club heads except Geotech and Miura.

Callaway question: I have noticed for 3 years now that some callaway staffers and certianly others have what is a "driving iron" type 2 and 3 X Tour Hybrid in the bag. Stenson has one and I thing Edfors has one or two. Were these ever released or were/are they tour only. I am not enamered by tour stuff, becuase nothing is stock, i.e everything matches the player that puts them one ebay, but this is one product I would love to get my hands on if any one has a line on them.

Asian market comment. I search TourSpec.com from time to time just to look, and boy does that market have a bunch of beautiful looking sticks. There also seems to be more of an option in terms of brand lines. Anyone in the U.S. ever buy any of that equipment?

The miura stuff is what really caught my eye, because these seem to be the most coveted clubs on this site.

but I can tell you that Miura heads are not available as component heads only....and TourSpec is NOT an authorized Miura dealer. The Miura product that people have bought from them is not authorized Miura product...

u seemed to have asked the right guy. i buy a different set each month. right now playing the fourteen tc550 forged with graphite design tour ad shafts. play the fourteen 60 degree and chikara 51 and 57 degree(bent for me).

How do you know this? They seem to deal directly with the company. Does a Miura company website in Japan state they are not authorized?

I dont believe they actually sell any Miura International line but Japan only models.

That is all Tour Spec sells is Japanese models in any brand.

I know because I have talked directly to Miura about this... Miura has looked into it and are trying to find out where Tour Spec is getting the product from.

Personally, I think this whole topic string should be deleted..
