NO...he'll tell them what he wants to play and they'll do everything under their power to accomodate him. You don't dictate what you want to a player of his calibre. Tiger is Nike's Jordan now, they'll bend over beyond backwards to keep him very happy.

You need to get something straight, Nike wouldn't dare tell him to play anything. He is worth billions and billions of dollars to them. They cater to his every need and will introduce stuff and give him a voice in the production of his irons and such. If your point were correct, he would not be playing the old SQ Tour! He is way beyond endorsement.

I have had the opportunity to hit a couple of Tiger's "back-ups" and can tell you they aren't any harder to hit than any other blade I have hit. He is very particular about the look and feel of his equipment if the guys at the oven can make a set that pleases him he will use them.

Easy on the Buick comments. I just bought a new Enclave, and it's THE ULTIMATE golf road trip vehicle. It's loaded up, and the middle row is two captain's chairs like the old vans. TONS of room, DVD player, ...I got rid of a lexus SUV for it. so EASY on the buicks...lol

Tiger has a solid track record of being open to trying newer things. Didn't he switch to the 2nd generation Yeti fairways pretty quickly? He has stated many times that he is always tinkering with the Nike guys, and if something works better, it goes in the bag. If not, they hand him something else. I wouldn't doubt that upon his return, the only holdover will be the putter. And he is getting buried with that thing. :)

Totally agree.. heard he's had a prototype putter in his bag now for months.. (10+ or more at least) he just won't put down the club.. he REALLY trusts it.. or it would be in the bin in the garage by now ...

Keep in mind his current set of sticks. It is a newer model compared to what he has been playing and shares alot of similarities shape wise to the new irons. Obviously tour guys have "custom" gear but its not too far off of what an otr set is. Everyone on here that has had anything remotely done to their clubs own a "custom" set of clubs.
