Ozik good but not that good

Well after playing them for a year now. They are good shafts, but for 450 a pop, their not that great. Just starting to play diamana, which seem to feel just as good and are just as long. I also like that the price tag is only 250 a shaft. At what point does Ozik start to lower their prices?

Who says they have to lower their price because you find Diamana to work better for you? I have owned a Diamana 83X BB driver and now my current Code 6 one. For ME, the ozik was better for L/A and spin on the L/M. The side spin reduction of the Code 6 vs 83X BB was quite noticeable.

"Worth" is a personal opinion. Why do people driver Ferrari's when the speed limit is 65mph and an Accord will do the same.....because people buy what they want regardless of the price.

As members of this forum guys, it ought to go without saying that we all know that regardless of cost if a shaft works for you it works. Whether it's an Ozik (which is not the manufacturer of the shaft fyi for the op), Diamana, Fuji, V2, VS, etc etc etc. That it fits your swing and the like, is what matters. The $$$ has zilch to do with it.

How the hell can you compare a blue board 83x to the whip-stick that is the code-6?

Completely unfair comparison, and no wonder your LA and spin are different.

Threads like this crack me up.There are something the matrix shaft does better then any other shaft avil on the market. Its those things that certain players are willing to spend a few more dollars for. Sure,I can play a few others out there. But, I choose my matrix's cause of those few certain things that make this shaft shine over the others.

OZIK IS GUD BECUZ IT MAKES YOUR HANDICAP DROP BY 10 STROKES GARATEED!!!!!11!!!!1

Just play what works. That's what the best players in the world do. They have unlimited access to matrix, mitsubishi rayon, fuji, and anything and everything between. I can't count how many V2s are in play each week... and those are sub-$100 shafts.

I have been a UST V2 "guy", and for the past several years been a Diamana "guy". I have dabbled with Matrix twice in the past, before just now giving them a 3rd try, giving them as fair a shot as I could, some things didn't work for me, some things worked, and I have found a great thing or two from them. You have to get what fits you.

I will say this, I know myself being guilty of this for one, and I'm sure there are others of us out there, although maybe you won't admit to it, there is a negative bias / dislike of Matrix because of the way we perceive the business practices of another web site.......plain and simple. But I will say this, many of their retail partners as well as the people at the company themselves are top-notch people.

I have experience of both Matrix and Diamana ; they are both very good top notch shafts.

I like the UST and Graffalloy for the money (really miles better then stock 'made for' shafts), but the more expensive shafts are better if you are skilled enough player to swing consistenly enough to appreciate them and get the most from their performance.

The matrix shafts may be expensive, but they must be good and everyone else is now trying to copy their XCON5 shaft.

The proof of the pudding, same head two different shafts and yes the better shaft produced higher clubhead speed and increased smash factor (hit the dead sweetspot); 3 different launch monitors can't all be wrong

Horses for courses.

I'm confused, isn't the concept of a comparison is to see how Product A does vs Product B. In MY case the Ozik gave me the best overall results, there is only a 12 gr difference in weight. In terms of stiffness I felt they played the same. On the course I am hitting MORE fairways with the Ozik, I feel like I can not over power the Ozik regardless of how hard I swing where as I did not feel that way with 83X BB. Now the Diamana W/B is an awesome shaft and that is a beast I can not overpower.

If all shafts were only $100, which shaft would most of the people that say Matrix shafts aren't that great choose? Probably Matrix shafts. Just get fitted for the right one instead of choosing what you see or hear about. Each Matrix series are for different people and their swing. Find the one that fits you and if you look in the correct places, you can find the shaft for less than what the OP said he paid for one.

I only paid $200 for a brand new, uncut Matrix Ozik Code-6 and $330 for a F6M2 in July. Everything is "over-rated" when you pay store retail price but is "amazing" when you find the right dealer and price.

I love the Diamana shafts but the feel of the Matrix shaft is incomparable once you have the one that fits your swing, not what someone else says should fit your swing.

I had been playing with my FT-5 tour with a 73S BB all this summer. I really like it; smooth, long, consistent. I also like my G10 with a WB but I have not played enough with it to give a firm opinion of it. However last week I bought a FT-5 I-mix with a X-con 6 and this weekend I hit it wonderfully. Trajectory and roll was exactly what I have been looking for. I like the BB for feel more as the X-con feels stiffer, but I can definitely feel the kick though impact. I could fade, draw, and hit perfectly straight shots with more control over the BB. On most holes I either matched or beat my best drives that I ever had on my home course with any driver. I have more confidence in the X-con. In the future I may pick up an I-mix BB and/or WB so I can test all three shafts with the same head.

BTW I also like V2s, Pro Launch Reds, and several other shafts that I would recommend for player not willing to pay for Oziks and Diamanas. For some reason most Fujikura shafts I have tried I tend to hit push slices with so I have pretty much stayed away from them.
