drudersh I'm interested in getting a 711 carbon but probably going to go oil can, how is the feel with the milling on carbon?

my first byron is being built now and I'm already planning a second...it's a sickness.

The feel is outstanding. Great feedback but soft at the same time. Not soft to the point where you don't feel the ball, but that nice pleasant soft feeling of knowing exactly where you struck the putt on the face of the putter. I have a 007 in Stainless and can tell you the feel of the carbon is much, much nicer. I'm happy I went with the sound slot as well, was worried it might produce too high pitched of a click, but the milling/thick cavity/ sound slot combination is a joy to listen to. I had a 009 in Carbon Steel oil can finish but found it too clicky for my tastes, not the case at all with the Byron.

What is the difference between a 711 and dh89? Also, who do you contact to order a BM?

DH89 will have rounder more abrupt bumpers similar to a Scotty 009. 711 is a little longer heel to toe, DH89 has a hollow cavity, 711 does not. The 007 is the same as the 711 but with a hollow cavity, though I'm hearing conflicting reports on whether or not that head is discontinued. The toe is softened with less bevel on the DH89 vs the 7 series, and I believe it's a little deeper front to back. I am sure there are others who can add more.

The sound slot creates a "tink" sound at impact. Some people prefer this sound, some dont. I personally prefer no slot, but some people have a slot on all their putters.

well gents I got a call from a random CA number that I missed and they left a voicemail saying 'Hi Sean this is Byron Morgan and I have a couple questions about your putter I just made for you. It looks pretty good but give me a call back.'

Well knock me over with a feather, I called him back and he explained the headcover I wanted wasn't in stock but he'd be more than happy to ship the putter out and then ship the headcover out when the new shipment arrives. What a guy!

So I go on putter talk and find these pics. WOW! I can't wait to get it, Steve and Byron were a pleasure to deal with and I can't wait to design another!

Josh it says "THWND" which stands for the hawk will never die...I went to St. Joseph's University and that is the mascot...just something to make the putter my own

There have been a pile of them for sale on this site and on ebay in the last month. That seems to be the only style Byron for sale lately.

I was going through some stuff recently and found this poster that I forgot I bought. I know the original run was 15 signed & numbered 36x24 prints and 5 on canvas, but I'm not sure if there were any subsequent runs. (I found this photo online while trying to find out more info about it.)

I forgot about that too. As far as I know there are only 14 left... Mine was ruined during a move and I tossed it.
