Just realized that photos of my latest Byron never made it into this thread. I got this one back in September. Suffice to say that I haven't even looked at another putter since this went into the bag (something I haven't been able to say before).

I've seen this putter on here before (not this but site). It's still one of the beat looking putter's I've seen in a really long time. The extra smoothing/grinding of the edges looks great, and that face milling is now my favorite. I can't remember seeing anything else with a similar pattern.

Ok new to me CBE-7 that was my white Byron unicorn. Before I got it pic, then 2 after I tarn-ex treated it (bad luck to use another man's patina), I'll update once it gets a nice color. PS for those copper lovers, brasso lightly on a copper putter will give the edge an orange polished look and still keep a darkish patina on flat surfaces, very sharp look

that fly cut milling looks awesome! how does it feel? deep milled, muted sensation? scratchy? i may need to get a byron just for this milling

Well this is not a new putter. I got in on the first run of the DH11 and it had a satin oil can with yellow paintfill until February 2015 when had a torched oil can applied. The torched oil can was awesome. I guess it's obvious but it had the oil can look but the torching gave it serious dark blue hues throughout the finish. I just sent back to the same refinish shop and went with satin black ox that looks great.

 

Also I love this head cover. Obviously it's not a Byron cover, but I it's hard not to pull for the smaller companies (sad to see them go). I have not seen this style wrap around cover before Scratch had them. I wish I could grab a few extra of these covers...

It's not a deep mill, so it doesn't mute the sound or make the putter feel softer. That is the main reason I like it so much. I enjoy an audible sound, and the feedback that it provides (also why this putter has a sound slot).

Anyone know if Byron does his own black ox finish, or does he send them out to someone to do the finish? If He sends them out does anyone know who?

I spoke with Steve, and he said they send them out to have them black oxed. Don't know where they send them.

I think stamping is included in the purchase of a new putter. There might be an up charge for something elaborate though.

 

If it's an existing putter, it's probably best to email Byron, tell him what you want stamped and where and he'll give you a price.

Except for the tour dots, tai dots, etc I think any of his standard stamps are gratis. Best to contact Byron via email and find out.
