Just bought this on the bay

Both Golfsmith and the Golfworks do quality work. It needs a new paint job.

I don't want to send it off. I have a grinding wheel that has a polishing pad, so I am going to start there. I may try and make it a matte finish, but I may try something else. Just looking for some suggestions for a DIY job.

I'd think that some of the professional grade meguiars detailing polish would work to get some of the scratches out.

It has been reshafted. I have a BlueBoard 83X on the way that may get a shot in this club.

Believe it or not, I have had very good luck with a product like McGuires followed by some Brasso.

I've yet to hit a driver that is longer, more accurate and more forgiving than this club.. i love it.

I suggest a product like the Meguiars as well. Then just throw some car wax on it to shine it up. I have done it on multiple woods. Easy to do and you would be amazed at how much comes out with this type of approach.

Give it the classic Taylor Made metallic burnt orange paint job. That'd be sick. Then do the paintfill accordingly. That would really be an eye catcher.

Can you buy that Meguiars at an Auto Zone or Wal*Mart?

He sprayed some matte spray on it from Wal*Mart. I just don't know if it would cover the scratches.

 

I do have some professional car polish in the garage as well. Hopefully it just looks bad in the picture LOL. The seller has a couple TB TP's all with scratches, and he used the same picture on them. I am hoping this one is a little better in person. I got it cheap enough to where it doesn't really matter. A couple scratches won't bother me anyway if I can't get them out.

I sure hope you are wrong LOL. I am running out of drivers to try. I played with one of these on the back 9 on Monday, and I absolutely killed it. Didn't miss a single fairway either.

Lots of advise coming at you from other, but you can't fix something that's missing (paint chips). Resprays suck and won't withstand even a single "dummy" hit.

 

Therefore, I say flip it now and get back what you put into it. Then, do yourself a favor and pick up the Titliest 909 D3. This is the straightest driver I've ever hit ... period! It's long - about 7-10 yards longer than my 907D2 and 905R, which were about the same.

I just got the non-tp version with a Ozik xcon6 in it. I kill it,best driver I ever hit, hope it is as good for you. Obviously I was Joking earlier as we all have watched you search for a driver.Good Luck. Todd

I hit the D3, and it gave me less ball speed than the 9015d, the Tour Burner TP, and so on. Titleist drivers suck for me.

Definitely not impressed at all by the new Titleist line up.. the D2 felt better to me than the D3, which felt dead. The voodoo shafts are terrible.. maybe its the shaft.

 

For me there has been no contest for my TB TP since i bagged it.. kicking out my FT-5.

I think you can get 90% of that off with a buffing wheel unless It is worse that the picture in person.

 

I have watched Chip make both crowns and faces look bout new when they looked abused with the wheels.

This is my first TM stick in a year. I have owned all 3 of the J33 series of drivers. I just need a dang driver to last more than 2 weeks in my bag.
