I hate HYBRIDS! Now help me find one

I'm not too accustomed to the hybrids either. But the two that I've hit that I really liked were the Mizuno CLK and the Cleveland Hi-Bore. I actually like the Mizuno better just because it's one of the few hybrids out there that I really like the looks of. Strangely enough the knock on the Mizuno CLK is that it goes TOO far.

 

I would also suggest looking at the shafts. That's where I've had some problems with the hybrids and usually the shafts are too whippy or the kick point is way too low. A lot of people that have problems with hybrids seem to only get ones with graphite shafts in them. So you may be better off looking for one in a steel shaft instead.

Had the Rescue Dual TP, and the stock shaft is garbage. Sakman, I had the HB-001, and it worked well. I don't remember why I sold that one. I may try that again with a PX or KBS if the Rescue TP doesn't do the trick.

Rescue TP will do it for you. You know me--I've owned pretty much every club out there also, and the Rescue TP line of hybrids is head and shoulders above any others I've hit.

 

The 585.H was decent, but didn't give me the piercing ball flight that the Rescue TP does.

 

Most graphites don't work out well for me either, but the Epic HYi and the Tour only V2 104g are two very stable hybrid shafts.

 

I never thought anything would be better than the 104g V2, but the Epic HYi is untouchable for me.

 

I'd say give one of them a shot if the X100 doesn't work out to your liking. You can pick up the Epic on eBay from the seller 'mulligangolf' for around $55 or so shipped--that's where I got mine.

 

Good luck! You won't find a better hybrid head than the Rescue TP in my opinion.

Just bought an Adams Peanut, so TM hybrid will be sold before I ever hit it LOL. If the "holy grail" of hybrids can't solve my problem then there is no hope for me.

you should hit the Rescue TP before settling so fast. I've hit the Adams also, but still prefer the Rescue TP--there's just something about it. The sound of the ball flying off the face, the contact, etc.--there's just something different about it vs. all the other hybrids I've hit (Adams, Nickent, Titleist, Ping, Cleveland, Mizuno, and on and on and on).

I have used PX shafts in hybrids up until this last one and like the feel. I need a little more height so I changed to the Javln but I still like the low bullets with the 6.0PX shaft just nmot practical into the green.

Cobra Baffler and Baffler pro are good.

 

Love my Halo good looks, no hooks, and now dirt cheap, stock graphite might play too soft for you, in steel it could be the ticket.

I have a Baffler Pro head sitting on the table. Another failed experiment LOL.

PING Rapture (not V2) has been perfect hybrid for me...I never liked them until I hit the Rapture w/ VS Proto--great stick. Just as much distance as with my 5 wood but much more controllable. Has to be one of the easiest clubs ever made to hit

Never tried that one before. I will keep that in mind too LOL.

 

On a side note, I rarely buy a club without selling my old one first. Big step forward in killing the HO in me. I did slip up on the Peanut, but it was so cheap that I can sell the TP as soon as it gets here and not feel too guilty.

Thanks for the link. A little more loft than I want, but that is a great deal. 22° is not very common either.

 

 

I got a KBS X for the Peanut coming, and I am going to send it off to Adams to be bent to 19°.

I have gone through a bagful of hybrids as well, finally settled on the Tour Edge Exotics XCG 18* with Aldila DVS shaft. Love at first swing. Also, four other guys in my group (all single digit cappers) hit it and proceeded to buy one as well. :good:

I only have good things to say about the 585h. I have 2, but I know you said you like steel. I hit my buddies with an x100 in it, and it is very long and very low launching. I think it is one of the most versatile hybrids. I would give it another try if i was you IMO.

After much experimenting and tinkering with a few different hybrids and shafts, the perfect combo for me is 16* and 19* TM Rescue Mid (non TP) with DG S300 playing to my normal 2 and 3 iron lengths.

you may find more consistency if you match shafts w/ your iron set....

load points and flex should be the same....

I feel the same way I have the j33 bridgestone with a fuji hb 90 gram shaft that is pretty good but found the j33 airmuscle to be easier to hit. new for 19 bucks form 3balls if you want my j33 hybrid let me know
