What to do? Ebay question

I sold a wedge on Friday, the person took the 'buy it now' price and paid promptly. I always check to see if the address that I am to ship to is confirmed, in this case it is not a confirmed address. Well, I have sent this person an email every day since Friday asking them to confirm their email address, and as of yet, I have received no response. The buyer has been a member since 2006 but has no feedback to speak of.

The reason I find this to be unsettling is I was burned a few months back, a buyer claimed that the purchase was not authorized and got his money back and I never saw my club again. If this person confirms this address, then they are confirming the purchase, and then there is no issues later on.

My question is should I just refund the money and sell the club to someone else or should I ship the club and withdraw the money immediately?

I've sold many items and shipped to unconfirmed addresses. Sometimes I've encountered different addresses between ebay and Paypal sites but have always sent to the paypal address. You've done your part and I wouldn't refund the money and would withdrawn it. Anyway, that's my 2 cents and the buyer is responsible for keeping their accounts updated.

The address this person has on and Ebay and Paypal is the same, I guess I will just ship it in the morning and be done with it. The transaction is just eerily similiar to the one that I got burned on, so I thought I would throw the question out there to see what everyone thought.

I think it's cool that you're thoughtful and sent several emails to clarify the address. I guess I've been fortunate in that all my items have made it to their destination but I'll have to say I never offered any refunds on my sales. Once the money is received, it's transferred to my account immediately and then item is sent off.

I'd just ship to the paypal addy, that's what ive always done :)

That sucks - I've had issues with ebay and paypal too (none of which were shipping related) and I can attest that their customers service departments are weak at best. They recent changed their paypal rules so I don't accept paypal currently on my sales but that's a whole different story. I only use them as a last resort if I have to move something. I normally use craigslist website or if it's golf specific than I let folks here have first crack at it before I sell it elsewhere.

If you ship it I would make sure that it has to be signed for in order to give you extra peace of mind in the event of a dispute.

I believe he said he got burned on the other one even with signature delivery confirmation.

It is such a shame that ebay has gone so far downhill. It was such a great resource for a long time, but now I simply cannot bring myself to risk selling anything there anymore. It's sad as I used to buy and sell weekly...

To answer the question about, I always ship with a tracking # and signature confirmation. I learned from experience that none of that matters to Paypal. After I get done with this round of selling and buying (I am looking for an 18 degree Rapture hybrid with a VS Proto in regular if anyone has one for sale) I will be closing my account. Ebay used to be a fantastic resource but I simply cannot bring myself to worry about it anymore. I think I will be utilizing this website as more of a resource.

Go to Paypal and Ebay and read thier policy on confirmed addresses.

FYI you have done your part. Hold onto the money and keep sending the emails.

Also, go to Ebay and fill out the buyers contact information form to get thier personal phone number that is registered with Ebay. Try to phone them.

I have personally been burned in the past to the point where if they are paying by Paypal I clearly state that all paypal payments must have a confirmed address. And that the product will only ship to that confirmed paypal address NO EXCEPTIONS.

If you end up shipping the item without the confimed address you could be burned by Paypal.
