My attempt at being the Deerslayer. And my newest Bettinardi

2 Bettinardis, and a C&L with some fresh paint

After seeing everyone else get brave with some paint, I decided it was my turn. I bought 15 different colors of Tamiya paint, 3 A West bottles with .010 needles, and acetone. I don't know why nobody really talks about this, but use the acetone in a ventelated area or you will have a headache. Removing the old paint was a bit of a pain, especially on the big dots on the C&L. The D.A.S.S. is my gamer, the JAM F.I.T. Tour carbon is my newest Bettinardi, and the C&L is like an old friend. I used translucent paint on the D.A.S.S. and C&L, and normal solid fill on the JAM. And of course, I got a new GripMaster to match the JAM. Not sure why the face of the JAM has a lighter spot on it, but it doesn't look like that in person.

The 3 sound slots look unbelieveable.

 

Also the green fill in the betti looks great.

 

And the C&L kinda looks like a tour cameron with the block letters.

I should add that I didn't do the white lettering on the JAM. That was already like that. Maybe I should clean that up a bit though.

I love the green with the black on the jam....maybe do the same on the front?...maybe not the white alignment line..but the lettering?

I have: clear red, clear blue, clear green, clear orange, red, purple, light (lime) green, orange, black, white, pink, titan silver, titan gold, metallic grey, and metallic blue. Not sure what I will use them on. Probably not going to paint my irons, I ordered them in the colors I want. My tweak the wedges a bit, but probably not. I am sure they will all be used on putters of some sort. I have plenty to paint if I get bored LOL.

Nice work. All of these threads are making me want to go to Hobby Lobby. (My 1st un-manly statement of 2009!)

 

None of my local Hobby Lobby's had the paint. I ended up getting it on eBay for a really good deal ($1.80 a bottle shipped). Check the smaller hobby stores or model specialty stores as they are more likely to have them.

Thanks. It is the CL-1. It was one of the first 100 in stainless. I have #68/100 in oil can as well, which was the first run of the C&L putters. The finish is called a III blast finish according to Lee. I think it is just a heavy bead blasting. I have always like it though.
