tigers handicap

just curious anyone know what tiger and the top pro's handicaps would be? if their rounds were put in for all the pga tour events what would it be? +9? more? just curious, sorry for the stupid and useless post.

You would think most would be +5 or more... based on the courses they play... heck an even par round would come out a + 2 probally ....

 

The gap between PGA tour pros is similar to the gap between a scratch and 18 handicap.... guys that I know of that are +3's struggle to make a living on the Canadian Tour, and they are excellent players....

 

Wouldn't be suprised to see Tiger's cap at +12 .... lol seriously.... they take 10 of his last 20 .... so take 10 66's on tough long courses....

Golf Digest figured Tiger's Handicap Index at +8.1 back in early 2001 after his 2000 tear. GAP did it fairly recently at +8.0.

Tiger's handicap at his home course Isleworth isnt +8. He would do well to be a +5 there. That course is just as hard or harder than plenty of PGA tour stops. Last year during the Tavistock Cup I talked to a grounds crew assistant who said the greens were nearly identical to Augusta's at the request of Tiger. The Tavistock was a week or two before the Masters.

The handicap rating and slope is 76.8/143

 

If he shoots 67 or 68 10 times out of 20 (much less if he throws in a 64, 65 or 66), he would be a +8...not that impossible (for him)

I thought they told us the course record was only 64 or 65 since they re-did it and I took that to mean with all of those PGA tour guys playing it, it was pretty tough. I have played it and it was by and far the toughest course I've ever played. And they wouldnt even let us play from the Tiger tees.

Remember that if 8.1 is correct - that is his HDCP INDEX - his COURSE HANDICAP would probably be +9 or +10 (depending on the course).

 

As he seems to average around 68, his best 10 of 20 would average less than that. Most of the courses/tournaments he plays tend to be on the tougher side = course ratings in the 75.5 - 79 range.

 

His average of his best would be 10 under those ratings. Which would mean +10 or +11. Give him a couple of really hot weeks and he is getting close to Absolut Zero.

If you play tough courses, your HCP does not mean you shoot that many strokes over/under par. Your HCP will be really low even if you shoot somewhat high scores.
