Scratch 1018 wedges!

Man! I love the new finish and look. I just took delivery of 2 Scratch JLMs and am supposed to talk to Patrick this week to order a 51/52 wedge. Now I am conflicted....what to do, what to do....

Thanks. Their website has info on the grinds. The ones I have are both for diggers or drivers of the golf ball.

No, it won't be. I don't know what they will say. I think just "Forged 1018", but I don't know that for sure.

Because Scratch doesn't offer a 52° or 54° in their retail wedges. I wanted 54° so I ordered a 53° bent to 54°.

I have been dying to post these, and now that "Got An Itch?" has posted some pictures I have been given a green light.

 

I got these back when I got my irons, and have been gaming them since then. I had the JLM wedges right before these. I really like the JLM wedges, but didn't have the right grind in them. They also didn't spin quite enough for my tastes around the green. Enter the 1018.

 

These are the best wedges that I have used by a lot. The grind on them is amazing. It really makes a huge difference to have a proper fitting grind. The grind makes a big difference on full shots, and around the green. The 1018's have the aggressive grooves, and they really put some spin on the ball. I can get them to stop from anywhere. Put the grooves together with the grind, and I have been able to get up and down from places that would have killed me when I used my Cally wedges with the MD grooves.

 

Here are the pictures. I have removed the paint from my initials to give them a clean look like my irons.

Are Scratch wedge heads larger than standard wedges? I thought I read they were somewhat larger but in your images they appear more compact if anything.

The Scratch feel better and fit me better since they are tailored to my swing. Only hit a few balls with the Vokeys, never even considered them.

 

The grinds make such a big difference on these that I will not be buying any other brand of wedges again.

I have over gone some extreme swing changes in the last 2 years. I would have been a D/D 2 years ago, and I still am today. Most swing only change enough to affect lie angle.
